Do they know it's etickets and that they don't have to pay for delivery for tickets? Makes no sense to pay on the day. I doubt we'll sell out but we took about 1500 last time I think and usually travel well to Barnet so there's always the risk that we batter the Wendies tonight and everyone piles in on the ticket sales for Saturday. Onto the game, this one should be an entertaining one. Two teams looking to actually play football in a division of complete anti-football and dross. Seems like we've got unlucky with our timing here as it looks like their front line is back up and running. Tough one to predict, I'm gonna say a repeat of last time out at The Hive and go with a 2-2 draw.
Improving Crawley at home. It’s going to be proper gnarly if we concede early, play poorly and lose. No reason why we can’t win this but not convinced we will.
Barrow away is getting into must win territory for the manager at this point. Because if we can't beat a struggling side away from home, where he's always managed to pull out results in the past, then I see no evidence to suggest we'll beat Notts County or anyone else coming up in the next few weeks. Huge game for him to settle the growing doubters.
Lee Ndlovu is such an important player for us, just horrible to play against and just so got at leading the line. Him coming back along with Callum Stead who is getting upto speed means we have so much more up top. At the back Tavares back is probably key. Gives us a fighting chance of doing okay. Think wecate slowly getting a feel for the league
Nice to hear Barnet actually like to play footie because we’ve ’out footballed’ every side who’s given it a go this season.
We are still a bit confused what to do but sometimes that has helped also confuse the opposition. The 3 games (all away) we have won are the only 3 games we've had less than 50% possession, yet every game we've lost we've had 64% possession or more. This is partly down to being forced to play Oli Hawkins from the start & playing to his strengths but also realising we have to adapt in this league. Death by a thousand cuts doesn't work against more well drilled teams with quality & pace on the counter. You guys have been impressive so far so would definitely take a draw.
Looks like we sold over a thousand so far so should be a good atmosphere hopefully only my second trip to your ground the last was when we had the little band which was a funny day .
We're getting so many we are having to actually miss them to make it fair on everyone else. Most touches in the opposition box in the whole country though so it comes with the territory. We even played crap for 45mins against Bristol Rovers and then the whole 90 vs Cambridge to let the rest of country catch up on that and we're still ahead.
Yep looking like great numbers from you & our poorest home turnout of the season. Plenty of talk about those inflatables & the band from 8 & 10 years ago respectively on our forum, the inflatables days was the only home game I missed that season we won the league in 2015 but saw the band 2 years later! My little boy didn't exist for either of those games but comes home & away now - might have to shown him some videos of the away end back then!
Bromley (A) Can’t say I’m looking forward to this one, always a tough game down there and our games against them are usually quite feisty so it’ll be a proper battle. We haven’t been playing well recently either so going to have to be a roll sleeves up job regardless and just try and grind some kind of result out. Expect we’ll look something like this: Hemming Daley-Campbell Dunkley McFadzean Gordon Naylor Stirk Markanday Darcy Dobra Bonis Think we’re going to have James Berry back on the bench for the first time this season which is great news as he’s usually pretty effective coming off from the bench, gives us a bit of directness and isn’t afraid to shoot either!
Trip to Walsall where we got thrashed 5-1 last season with Finley hellbent on getting himself sent off and the fact of the homophobic remarks emerged after the game. Ominous remarks in Crosby's pre-match about players being out with contact injuries, give the impression it may be a threadbare starting xi and not all the sub spots filled. The Saddlers have had a number of personnel changes over the summer, with old nemesis Matt still in the squad, but confined to sub appearances. Lewis Warrington, who we had on loan as a scrawny youngster, seems to have morphed from an attacking midfielder into a defensive one protecting the back four. I doubt the result will be as comfortable as last season, but expecting a home win without the hosts breaking too much sweat.
Yet again I'm 100% confident Barra win this one all the way up to kickoff….I've realised using this formula im gonna get more time confident of a win than realising it’s another loss again….tiz the only joy I can see myself having this season
Don't worry too much about Matt he's completely finished and shouldn't be here being honest. He might get 15 minutes off the bench but he offers nothing now. I think we'll win but it'll be a close game as we've got absolutely feck all going forward apart from who starts.
Quigley will forever baffle me I wouldn’t put him back in the squad never mind line up. How often has a striker who scored absolutely zero/zilch nothing earned a moved to a team in the league above??
