Feels a big game on Tuesday, but one with a bit less pressure on it for us after yesterday’s smash and grab. I don’t think we’re going to win that many plaudits for how we play this season, but to his credit Paterson has managed to get us very defensively organised and with a real team spirit. Add that to the three or four attackers we’ve got that you feel are capable of scoring or creating something from nothing and we should have a chance in most games.
Yes. I had already added it to 18th Oct fixture list. I can understand your concern because I had same dilemma whether to post these fixtures today or on Wednesday. Although Tuesday's fixture is a mega match which will generate a lot of conversations I thought the other 22 would love earliest opportunity to talk about their next fixtures. Hence me posting it today. Cheers
Does feel like a big game for us doesn’t it. Get a win and we’re right in it after a slow start to the season. We’ve goals in us and with McDonald playing out of his skin on a weekly basis we look pretty gritty defensively. Scott Robertson has added steel to the midfield giving us a strong spine. Only caveat is Roos in goal. Got a lot of plaudits yesterday but only his save in the first half was top drawer, you’d expect him to make the other couple. Problem is he’s absolutely rooted to the spot, didn’t get near a single corner from six first half, leaving his defence to clear everything. Odd result for Swindon at Accrington, can’t see that happening two games running.
Yesterday's daylight robbery in north London certainly helps before the tough looking trip to Wiltshire just a few days later. Would certainly take a draw but I don't see the game ending level. Cheltenham have suddenly hit form following the return of the King to Whaddon Road which makes that fixtures in the neat future look far harder than just a few weeks ago which isn't ideal. It's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.
Might actually beat Bromley this time at the third attempt. We have the best away record in the league (think also the country?) so fingers crossed we can maintain that form…and maybe even go top in the process…
Not usually happy with an away draw but I’ll certainly take it on Tuesday after spawning that one yesterday. 4 points from those 2 would be great.
I don’t want to be That Guy again and I appreciate all of the hard work you put in @Alfie the exile, but we’ve definitely played Barrow away more than 3 times!
I thought so as well but, even using Fishy, I can only find two seasons and 4 games where they played each other. There were 2 Barnet National League wins in 2018/19 and a Barrow home NL win balanced by a Trophy win for Barnet in the curtailed 2019/20 season. They all seem to have forgotten the Conference seasons after Barrow were promoted in 1989.
