Oh god not a manager of the stats!!! well we had 65% of the passing, 22.5% of that percentage was on the left area side of the D in the final 3rd of pitch, we controls 8 of the 12 square areas of the pitch, did the most grunting………granted we lost 6-0 as we didn’t do any basics like shooting or tackling or winning headers or saving shots……but add that 65% to the 22.5% times by 8 and there was 245 winning points to that magnificent performance total and utter claptrap b*llocks
I don't know why people still read 'contract terminated by mutual agreement' as meaning literally that. All it means is they've agreed on a compensation package whereby he agrees to accept a percentage of the total value of his contract in return for recieving it sooner than the length of his contract. Had he refused and insisted York stick to the terms in the contract he still wouldn't be managing them. I'm sure there wasn't a meeting where Uggla said 'I don't want you managing my club but this has to be a joint decision'
Downgrade or not it's still a silly thing to do. Sounds like maybe Uggla presumed Hinshelwood would jump ship at some point this season anyway and could be at least good damage limitation, change manager now rather than changing manager at a time of Hinshelwood's choosing. Remember how badly John Sheridan ****ed us over when he got us to 3rd place in the league and on a six-game winning run, and then with only a week to go till the January window closed decided he'd much rather be managing Chesterfield. But also it could just be Uggla refusing to work with a manager he doesn't have a good personal relationship with, we don't know why Hinshelwood was unwilling to sign a new contract and it could have been because Uggla is a nightmare to work with and Hinshelwood didn't want to be tied to him for as long as Uggla wanted, could have been a crap contract, maybe included a clause whereby Uggla gets ownership of Hinshelwood's children.
Uggla said at meeting that he wanted a manager on a long term contract with a high buy out clause ,so they can build for the future. Hinslewood wanted to jump the ladder and the Notts County job put a lot of spanner’s in the works. So I’m happy with the change,if Maynard is up to the job is a different question. We have the squad and play the same way, looking forward to seeing how he manages to get Stones and Pearce playing together because that was something Hinslewood didn’t seem to want to do.If he manages that we have 2 of best strikers in the league. Life is never dull being a York fan that is why nobody is ever over confident. For once the owners have a plan not like previous who run day to day.
Maynard did an outstanding job at Wealdstone but his remit was always to keep us in the division which he did comfortably and amazingly based on our budget and resources. Our trials and tribulations since he left are testament to that. That said, there was always a thought that mid table consolidation was his forte because of how he sets up his team. He’s a continuation of Hinshelwood in terms of plenty of possession based football and lots of passing the ball around for the sake of it. Hinshelwood was hardly a success. He flunked promotion on a massive budget last season. He had a big budget at Worthing too.
We're fairly easily beatable at Crabble. Young team & inexperienced manager. Play better away on the counter
I know he'll be linked with the Yeovil job, but Solihull sacking Taylor and appointing Limbrick would be the ultimate sideway move.
