I think spurs will be a force this season at last! After the hope that when GG came in faded, I can really see us pushing for european spot within 2 years, and possibly the FA cup as well. I would like to think that we could win the league cup this year though. Glen has brought in quality players, will a bucket load of experience, and that can only be good for the likes of Gary Doherty,Luke Young,Ledley King
etc, so COME ON YOU SPURS

Well that must be Glenn's thinking eh? Why else would he keep signing plyers who have only a year or 2 left at the top?

What do you reckon about the Chamot signing then Jim? Hardly a Campbell like figure is he?

Hoddle has done well to build himself back up at southampton after the england fiasco. Good looking 5 signings at spurs this summer by him especially poyet who chelsea fans must be sick that he has left to join their rivals. Competition for top 5 spots in the premiership should be excellent next season.

I don't care what anyone says but George Graham left Spurs in the best position they've been in for a long time. He developed the youth set up, buying the Etherington's, Davie's and Ggardner's and then moulding them into his way of thinking. I have no doubt though that Glenn Hoddle will get all the applause for this. I think it was disgusting how he was booted out of Tottenham and belive with him still at the helm your chances of having Sol and a crack at the top 5 would be a lot higher.
A unknown 28 year old Yugoslav and possibly an old, not exactly class centre back will never fill the gap left by Campbell. Add to that a good, but inconsistent midfielder and a striker who has come back to earn one final wad of cash you have..erm, a top 12 finish...again!
I don't think Spurs fans realise how influential Campbell was to them. I have no doubt that without him Spurs would have been relegated long ago, he single handedly kept you up and Im amazed he didn't move sooner from a club that is not big, no matter how much their supporters kid themselves.
Every year we hear people saying Spurs will be a force anyway, last season with the signing of Rebrov you were supposedly gonna win the league.
A decent run in one of the cups and a top 10 finsih, Spurs season in my opinion.

Swindon played Spurs in a friendly a few days ago. We lost 3-1 but it was 1-1 until the 85th minute.

If I had never watched football before I would have struggled to pick out which team was from the Premier League...you were that bad!

Apart from French geezer who played on the wing you were pap, could't handle a crap Division 2 team, what hope have you in the Prem?

**Rant over**

Spurs will do well. Sol Campbell was influencial, but that was it. He was the same as Cantona and Gasgoigne were influencial and look at there old clubs. They are doing just as good without them. Sol was overrated and so was his influence. I think with Poyet and Sheringham, they will take over as the influencial players and Spurs will do well. Poyet in midfield teaming up with Rebrov and Sheringham will be a formula that works, and it will work well. Spurs will finish 6th.

I too was at the Spurs v Swindon match, and Spurs were poor.

It was only a friendly, but I really don't think they have the quality yet to be up with the leading pack.

Spurs are still in for a poor season. I can see an abysmal start but then climbing to around 10th. Thier Execellent manager should improve the team in the next couple of years.

One of my best mates has been a season ticket holder at Spurs for the last decade. He has now decided to not renew for this season. He was annoyed that Graham was sacked as he felt he had been building a good solid young team, that like he left at Leeds would continue to improve.

I'll see how good this Spurs side is tonight we have them in a friendly and they're supposed to be playing their first XI.

The only thing on the up at Spurs is their average age.

I reckon Spurs have made some good signings but I think that Chazza is right that they will not do particularly well because of these.
Chamot was once a top quality centre back and could do well while the Goran Bunjee is pretty much unknown. Poyet will be a very good signing and Sheringham is undoubtedly quality!
These signings give Spurs the experience needed and could do well but a few top quality signings need to be thrown in, even if it is just to keep Rebrov happy!
