Ex Everton John Hettinga? Just looking at his bio now, never knew he had a stint as Ajax manager and at West Ham as assistant? Shows how much I follow football these days
Trent's new deal gonna be announced in the next few days apparently. Probably the biggest move we can make this summer amid the rumours of Madrid trying to get him on a free the big tramps.
You can never say never. We are in unknown waters now. Nobody knows what all we will achieve in the Slot era. In many ways we were blessed under Klopp. Structurally the club is better than what is was in the nineties & 2000s, but the club has to at least qualify for the top 4 regularly & show progress (achieve things & keep signing good players) to retain players like Trent or even Alisson. Otherwise you will always have the likes of Madrid, Barcelona or Munich circling over us. & you never know when players like Trent lose faith or seek better opportunities for money or medals.
Huge deal. End of the day 3 key players are currently now within 12 months and that needs sorting before any shiny new toys are dropped off for fools to look at.
Yeah, got all the usual whining on social media demanding to know why we havent splashed out mega bucks....tying up Trents, Mo's and VVD's contracts are the most important things right now, I'd prefer getting these 3 signed up with extensions over any new players any day of the week.
I forgot it's that time of the year when our twitter fans love players who don't play for Liverpool (and probably have never seen play) more than the actual lads on the team.
It's social media for you everyone has to compare what teams are doing it's very cringe. Like why would Liverpool fan be arsed what say Manchester United are doing in the transfer market it's so weird.
Yeah, the crying over having "lost" a player we never had is quite weird. Particularly when the club is working on deals to keep important players that are actually at risk of being lost...
This and the fact the sporting director has already literally said we will move later in the window. It's baffling that supposed fans of the club don't even listen to what the club are saying.
And add to the fact that Slot has just had his first training session with the squad, so will be assessing what he has, and what he needs. No point adding signings to the team to appease the fans, and it's something that Slot might not want or need. I don't particularly pay much attention to rumours until things are confirmed, because it sometimes always leads to disappointment. But I think the squad at the minute is in a pretty healthy state so doesn't really need much influx of new players, the biggest focus should be getting TAA/Mo/VVD contracts sorted.
I'll tell you now if we can keep Bajcetic fit and give him a run he'll save the club millions I was shocked how fantastic he was when he broke into the side he was outshining the likes of Fabinho and Henderson keeping them out the team when he had only just turned 18 he ran few games on his own and won MOTM awards. He's got all the tools in locker to be the ultimate modern-day midfielder I just hope the terrible injuries haven't set him back too much. We'll soon see.
He has been impressive and it was only injuries that have really set him back. If he is managed correctly and used correctly, we'll have a fantastic asset on our hands for the future, and will really save the club millions. There is another player in the ranks that looks impressive and really has a bright future too which will be another money saver if given a chance, and that's Nyoni, seeing him against Betis in the highlights, he looks a fantastic prospect, calm on the ball, forward thinker, was the one that started the ball running that led to the goal, and already looks mature at the age of 17. I really hope that he can be given a chance.
