I think his play-making ability and vision could potentially shine under Rodgers attacking system in all fairness so i would be more than happy for him to stay.

What are we going to do with all these midfielders?

    Gerrard
    Adam
    Aquilani
    Henderson
    Spearing
    Shelvey
    Lucas
    Potentially Sigurdsson
And even at that we need better cover for Lucas aswell.

I think Adam will probably be sold and Shelvey loaned out.

We need a big squad this season with European football - that Europa League is a marathon if you have a run in it.

Aquilani will go probably, and hopefully Adam as well. Gerrard can no longer play every week and has to be used sensibly when he's fit. Spearing is nothing more than a back up.

We need more quality in the middle of the park.

I'd like to see Gerrard play less games with Shelvey and Henderson given more of a chance. Of course Lucas should be the first name on the team sheet with either Spearing or a new signing as a back up, preferrably a new signing.

I'd be happy to see Aquilani stay but don't see it happening. Adam must be sold, no other option.

It amazes me the amount of people that just ignore the fact that Aquilani DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY IN ENGLAND

You can take Aquilani off the list anyway. Apart from Lucas and Gerrard that midfield is very poor

Midfield isn't that big an issue for me. We need cover for Lucas but that's about it, particularly if we go for Siggurdson.

Lucas has had a very bad knee injury and many top footballers have come back not the same player, obviously I hope Lucas comes back better than ever but I'm definitely not going to put any money on it....... I do think the owners will give Rodgers 30-40m to bring in the players her wants over the next 2 transfer windows and hopefully he gets it right

We need more goals/goal potential from midfield, Downing, Henderson, Spearing, Shelvey and Lucas don't offer that. I remember a few years ago reading that Downing had had the most shots without scoring a goal, looking quickly on wiki that might have been 08/09, I suspect he won that crown this season. He has a pattern, one decent scoring season followed by two naff seasons so we bought him two seasons too early!

We'll need to replace Kuyt definitely, and for me a couple of midfielders. Not sure we need to do much with defence so I'd leave it, perhaps ditch our reserve keepers and get a young keeper in hungry to try and displace Reina rather than old, happy to pick up his wages and not be that dependable when called upon anyway

Definitely need a shake up in midfield, Kenny might have done it with the resources available last season. Who knows if ditching Downing and Henderson and using either Kuyt and Maxi more, or other younger players, would have resulted in a finish which saved him..................
