I think ange will be OK. Different players might suit him more than the spurs ones did. He will have a good set of cbs and some attacking fullback backs if he wants to use them and two really good cms that might actually sit in place. Lots of attacking width options and a big lump up top. Of.course he could injure the lot of them withing the month but the personnel might deliver for him quite well.
Ange should have had his eyes on a job in Germany. Bundesliga is generally more attacking and so he'd suit pretty much each club like a glove there. He wouldn't get hammered anywhere near as much for his tactics. I thought Brentford could have been an interesting fit for him. But otherwise I really don't see this as a good move on his part. Beyond the getting another crack at the Europa League. It just feels rare that a team swings from a pendulum the way Forest are about to and it works.
I was hoping he might get the Leverkusen job, it would have been fun to watch him in Germany going up against Bayern.
Spurs' league position did suffer more under him because of the sheer volume of injuries they had last season (particularly to the defence) & concentrating on Europe, so it was definitely a misleading league finish. However, I feel it's perfectly legitimate to suggest that his style & defensive set-up quite probably contributed to those injuries with the required levels of sprints & recovery runs etc., it seemed to do a number on Van De Ven's hamstrings after all. Might also be that employing that style in the Europa League schedule is more difficult, with the requirements for the players in the system harder to balance & also harder to attract players of requisite quality for backup. Do Forest have a more consistent quality of squad, less drop off, than Spurs did? Maybe Ange will slightly adjust what he did with that quality in mind...?
Yeah that would have been a good move for him. And if they were willing to give it to ****ing ten Hag then no way they wouldn't have been interested in Ange. I do not get why he isn't going abroad.
