Oh yeah agreed, it's probably the right way to do it and keep the expenditure down. Absolutely nothing to excite me as a fan though.
Playing Gib prem side Europa Point in Benalmadena on 15th July which is an interesting one, they look absolutely shit
We're playing Alfreton and some games in Germany so far and I expect an obligatory XI to Basford. Seen us play Galatasary and AEK Athens and it's not really any more exciting than Ilkeston away. Do like a pre season friendly, results aren't that important but you tend to get a feel of how they're going to set up and how they'll perform for the season.
One more added for us 5th July - Matlock Town (A) 8th July - Burton Albion (H) 15th July - Europa Point (N - Malaga)
Malaga is a great city, definitely get out there if you've never been and you're able to Chesterfield fans.
I'm going to go, game is closer to Benalmedina but I'm thinking of flying into Malaga and staying there/ driving to the game
Without knowing where the stadium is, you're probably alright on the train. Benalmedina, Torremolinos, Malaga and the airport all the same line and trains are every 30 mins, cheap and you can just turn up without pre-booking. If you're exploring a bit wider then yeah get a car, but if youre just sticking to that little bit of the South coast definitely not essential. I've been down that way three times and not hired a car once.
I was in Torremolinos in February (a music festival) and wandered around Belamedina. It's nice around that way but it's going to be be a tad on the warm side. Casey
Yep great spot that. Gets rammo and chaotic in there but in a good way. Last time went there for a second round of tapas after eating elsewhere because we physically couldn't squeeze ourselves when we first went. I still don't understand how that place functions in terms of orders, they never seem to write anything down but never forget your orders.
The only game fans will be able to go to is a home match with Wigan think the last Saturday before the season starts. The rest are behind closed doors against unidentified opponents. Disappointing as always liked the chance to go to a localish away game against a non-league side.
We beat Sheffield FC 5-1 today to kick off pre season. Two different XIs played each half. Daniel Ogunleye scored on trial from Brentwood Town.
