I can’t call the the 3rd team to be promoted but I will say Challinor, was one of my top 3 picks to be our next manage, I rate him that highly.
I do feel a bit for Wycombe about what's happened but let's be honest they'd be rock bottom of that Championship if they went up anyway. I think us and Stockport/Charlton would be better placed to survive up there.
If we luckily get promoted under Dobbs you're right and we would probably have a record low points in The Championship unless our owner pays him off for being shit he can afford to do it and Charlton must be laughing their bollocks off knowing they will face us in the play offs.
Should be a cracking few games for the neutral as three of the four teams are in great form. Aside from Charlton though I think any of the other teams would struggle in the Championship..
18:30 on a Sunday is a joke kickoff time. Who's come up with that? Rooting for anybody but Stockport, would be nice to go a season without our stalkers.
I think Stockport would make a good fist of it too, but I can see Wycombe and Orient coming back down yes.
I think all clubs be it automatic but definitely the 4 play off contenders will struggle in the Championship , it's a massive level up & don't forget that Charlton have an ageing team , quite a few late 20's & into 30's where injuries are more common & take longer to come back from , it's gonna cost quite a few £ just to be competitive . Does anyone know what the TV £ split is now between Championship & Leagues 1 & 2 as I think we get bigger slice of the pie than we did 2/3 years ago ?
Best wishes to all four, including Orient who clearly deserved it over us. I guess I have a certain sympathy for our neighbours, Wycombe, hope they get out of their rut. it will be a very Northern division next year, poor old Plymouth and Cardiff especially, they’ll be clocking up the miles.
Notts County were supposed to be playing at home then, but Forest are at home the same day, so our games got swapped. Was supposed to be Saturday at 7:45.
Got my tickets for the home leg anyway, and booked annual leave and a hotel near my old house, so I can actually go back and see my parents for the first time since December 2023. Works out well really.
Quite hoping NJ gets its done for Charlton, I dont really fancy facing him next season as will just be too weird. His playoff record is really pretty poor though. Always felt he got himself, too amped up for these big games, and in doing so the team underperformed.
rent free head space for Mansfield ole ole who do you want to do it and why? Just feel like Stockport had a excellent season and be a great achievement even with the playing budget of several Eastern European states combined.
Agree , but so do Man U in the Premier League, but you can only beat what's in front of you , look at Wycombe , far smaller budget & fan base compared to the other 4 in play offs & the ridiculous money spent on transfer fees & player salaries of the 2 automatics , it's mostly the amount of £ spent & or big fanbases / media hype that sway the officials but not always , but I agree re Stockport , they have momentum atm ,a very under estimated positive .
