Wasn't that the last time there was a first time winner of the league?

Still find it bizarre he wasn't in the team of the season. He finished on 144.

It actually happened twice in the 70's, 1972 Leeds and Derby Co.

Not sure when else it would have happened pre- World War 2 I would guess?

First and last goal of the season were own goals at Old Trafford. Odd.

Does anyone know the records for managers sacked right after 1 team plays them, like what happened with Gary Monk and Jose being sacked immediately after we played them

I find it hard to believe we scored that many considering all the 0-0's and LvG's no shooting policy.

Yeah I was having a discussion about Van Gaals style of football last night with my lodger who is dutch (and a Van Gaal fan boy). He disagreed that he has a defensive style. I pointed out that they have scored the 2nd least amount of goals in the top 12 and only Villa and WBA have created less chances, yet they have the joint best defence in the league.

    The stats don't lie.

Also, that Smalling own goal cost De Gea the golden glove. He was devestated.

Newcastle scored 25% of their Premier League goals this season in two games (Spurs and Norwich), with the other 75% coming in the remaining 36.

20% of Spurs goals conceded in the league this season were to Newcastle.

    7 in 2 games, 28 in the other 36.

Did we finish as the only side that had three players on double figures for goals scored?

It will be because we had Aguero 29, De Bruyne 16, Iheanacho 14 and Sterling 11 in all comps
