doesn’t seem likely to happen anymore, player seems to want to stay in Belgium with Standard Liege even though they’ve got no money

Needs must I suppose, we need someone in that position and he’s relatively cheap. Guess the club are spending money in other areas of the team, can’t afford too many expensive young academy types like Hutchinson. I sit near a bloke who also watches Colchester and he’s been on about us signing him for about 10 years. He’s a clever player, has a local connection, can see why we’d want him. My worry about him isn’t the 6m or whatever he costs but whether he’ll be up to it physically. Who knows.

I agree with you and hope Blackburn don't sell him at all.

Confirmed about an hour ago. He's been training with us for a few days, and will bring a bit more championship experience to the squad. I'd imagine he'll be a 25/30 games a season sort of player?

He comes from Aylesbury, so it's a move close to home for him, which may have been part of the appeal?

He's signing No 10 for us, and we've another one due in tomorrow.

Asprilla going to Rennes for 25m apparently.

Very good fee but we won’t see any of it spent on players I guess.

I did post earlier in the League 1 section we're announcing a signing from you guys tomorrow which our Chairman mentioned in his Hard Truth Podcast on Monday .

If this kiddie is as good as last season's loanee from you Jadel Katongo I'll be pleased but if he's a defensive midfielder can't see him getting a game in front of Captain Archie Collins or Hector Kyprianou only available spot atm is right back .

Seem to have high hopes for Wright. Looked decent in pre season against Barca

Happy with that, gives us plenty of depth. Now let's get that midfielder in.

Rumours are we're in for Nicolas Madsen (no, me neither) but his YouTube reel looks impressive  Though it's probably nonsense as it's come from our forum!

I liked bta. Definitely gives 100%. Scored some great goals. Just not the man to get 20+ goals to fire a team to promotion. Made a profit on him. He will get a good reception when he returns with cov. Just hope that he don't score the winner. We have 9 players left at the club out the 20 that was in the team at Southampton in the play offs

Fair enough, it was initially a very good value for money signing and you more than deserved to make a profit on him. He may not be likely to score 20 in a season, but are you realistically going to bring in someone to replace him who is?

Haven't they already done that in Devante Cole? Unless they are getting someone else too.

If that is their replacement for him, then it has to be considered as bad business for them regardless of them making money on Thomas-Asante. Devante Cole isn't getting close to 20 goals this season.

Watford are apparently after the italian LB from Juve that we want. Not sure if that is true or if it is just a negotiation thing for Paal.

Rak Sakyi is also being linked to other Championship sides now. The likes of Shef Utd and Burnley I have seen. If true, the only hope we have is because we are local.

Wouldn't be surprised if we have a look to what with Summerville going. It's a fairly hard sell though as in pre-season we've had James, Gnonto, Rutter and Aaronson all playing on the wings, so we can't offer assurances re starts etc.

Didn't Corberan walk out on Huddersfield for a similar, yet seemingly less severe situation that he now finds himself in at West Brom?

Admittedly, Olympiakos, who he joined soon after Huddersfield could have already been in his ear at the time.
