Heckingbottom has obviously identified the defence as a weak point from last season, lots of defensive reinforcements so far, hopefully a few attacking signings will follow soon
Kvistgaarden not in today's Brondby team and we've had twitter plane-spotters reporting on a small private aircraft flying in from the region. Think we can say this one isn't going to take much longer. Sainz reportedly close to a move to Porto. I assumed this would pick up pace the moment Nico Williams signed his new deal. £13m base with addons apparently. Our local press have also put out that we're not asking silly money for Sargent. I think the club are using them to soften up the fanbase expectations of the fee there. It seems we want around £20m, from a base of £16m - not mid 20s. I do think we're getting more for Sainz than we expected so maybe that's made us more willing to adjust with Sargent.
Maxi Talovierov signs from Plymouth for about £1.7 million. Divin Mubama too, on a season long loan from Man City (can't say I know much about him at all other than he's s forward they picked up from West Ham the other year)
Maybe not the profile of midfielder we are most in need of but we could certainly be doing some deeper surgery on the midfield. Any number of McLean, Gibbs, Forsyth and Nunez could leave, either sold or loaned. Thorup must feel sick. Sack him and sign all of the good Danish players.
Certainly the biggest reputation to transfer into the league since Neves. Less surprising though with his age and situation over in France. I think other clubs in the league could have made this transfer but only Wolves could have signed Neves,
If it's the Celtic Kyogo from 2023/24 then wow , if it's the Celtic Kyogo & Rennes Kyogo from 2024/25 then they'll be pleased that Alfie May is on the bench .
Yeah, I'd say he's off the back of a poor year and possibly won't quite be at the level at his best at Celtic. Still though, I think he'll be one of the best strikers in the league and is some signing.
Is the plan to field Gray, Stansfield and Kyogo as the front three? As good as they all are, their profiles don't compliment each other at all. Surely the next plan is to upgrade Willumson in the ten but the noise on Che Adams seems to have gone a bit quiet.
Stansfield played in behind quite a bit last season I think. I’d imagine a new RW, Stansfield, Gray in behind Stansfield. Even Osayi-Samuel could play wide right like he used to.
Nixon reporting our interest in Dolan this morning - first time it’s been in the press. Facing competition from foreign clubs though. He’s also got offers from Coventry and Derby so don’t really see him signing here. Think it’d be an odd fit for a side that doesn’t play with wingers anyway.
Been linked with Martin Sherif from Everton. Don’t know a single thing about him other than that he was born in 2006 which is just grim.
I'd hope he's a replacement for Layton Stewart as a young project, and we're still looking for another senior striker. He looks very promising though.
Gray wide left Osayi wide right with Kyogo or Stansfield spearheading the attack. I think Doyle might be used as an attacking playmaker.
