I hope your right I do. Signing stones would excite me, but i just think we could do with a tricky, pacy outlet who can do norwoods running and feed off his intelligent through balls. If nothing else it would provide another option when plan a isnt working
I agree about the pace but if we have better service behind the forwards then it may not be such an issue, Norwood / Smith is a top partnership at this level regardless of age..... lets hope stones comes in too
Strikeforce putting the Old in Oldham! Great signing assuming it comes off though, he's a miles better player than when we had him before, and he's a young 35, he only played football in his spare time from studying until he graduated from uni at age 22. I mean, 24 goals in L2 last season, will have another smart striker alongside him... I reckon Norwood will play with more desire with a proper partner, assuming he stays. But yeah, a young pacy lad would be good too, especially now you can use more subs
Thats the thing...mellons first focus this summer was to trim the squad. Wevare potentially looking at starting the season with: Norwood Garner Reid Fondop Smith Stones/a.n.other Thats as well as having nuttall and willoughby out on loan. Alot of strikers to keep happy there. Id be happier with 4 quality strikers with an array of skill sets. Stones, norwood are the only 2 id be shouting about. Others are squad fillers for me, not gunna win you the league
Oh i know Hes done well, i doubt him though for his age. Same with garner. Only so long you can perform consistently at the top of your game before you begin to rely on youth around you
As I keep saying, there is a player in there somewhere but I’m glad that we’re no longer the club looking to dig him out. I don’t think he has the strongest mentality.
Otis Khan still trialing? Looked good in the 60 minutes we saw of him, then went off injured never to be seen again.
He did an interview a few weeks ago and said he’d had 4 or 5 offers. He’s probably had more since. Likely biding his time to make sure he makes the right choice, but you’ve got to presume he’s going to make that decision this week at the latest with the season so close now!
Played for Posh's Under 21 team in the 5-1 defeat by Norwich this afternoon . Surplas to requirements at Posh & a terrible panic buy but MacAnthony wants to sell & wants too much £ so reckon a loan deal with option to buy to a Vanarama club like yourselves would be the best for all parties . Good to see Mr Martin is now out of the picture so onwards & upwards for you lot , good look with the new lot & for the future .
