I came across a lad from birmingham who worked as a quality tech (I know hilarious right? ) he used to get his kicks ringing into 606 faking different fan views and putting on a show. I'm sure these people who go on YouTube are half putting it on. The Manchester united lad who is always whining and going mad is now branching out to talk about other clubs. All they want is subs to make money so the people I don't understand are the people to watch them. My kid watched YouTube for video games a lot so imo the older we get the more removed from what young people use as their sources and media.
He's a David Brent type, his knowledge on us is absolutely shocking also. Watched him on a football quiz channel on YouTube and he got absolutely caught out, absolute tit of bloke. Don't get me started on Goldbridge, click baiting pleb. It's all a generational thing, it's very popular with fans in their early 20s I believe, I've thankfully just about missed the boat. It just shocks me that these 'personalities' have made their way onto Sky giving their views with absolutely zero footballing background. No more qualified than me to be a pundit
It's painfully bad. I could half accept it if they were competent speakers but most of them look terrified and struggle to get their words out. It's completely unwatchable. They must have lost millions of viewers.
Adam, the Man Utd fan? He was a forum poster back in the day, so really we should wonder who's most likely on FF to take up that mantle...
One of my mates watches all that shite. I occasionally get a clip shoved in front of my face whenever they talk about Wolves and their opinions are always 99% bullshit. Is it called The Club or something like that? The one with that True Geordie wanker as well is absolutely woeful.
It's just the current generations iteration of talkSPORT. Break it down and it's the same formula. Rage bait, force engagement, make money. Fake opinions for money. It really is not worth listening too. That's not to say the platform of social media is all bad. Dig deep and you will find genuine educated content from fans of all clubs.
I love Twitter and if it's something I don't like then steer clear, mute accounts, certain words , find I've got to know a lot of people who go away at City through Twitter and a good source for buying off and selling tickets to real fans instead of tourists, also some very good history accounts and the like. Facebook a bit more personal , people I already know , like keeping in touch with old school friends etc, Instagram I more use as a way to keep pictures of events.
There's a couple i don't mind watching as they actually have some knowledge. James Alcott probably the best for unbiased, thought-out videos. Matt SB/Benjamin Bloom are alright - and that Bolton lass, Neive, knows more about football than Buvey/Thogden/Rory/Flex/McKola put together.
Think we must be talking about different things as I've never heard of any of the people you've mentioned. I was commenting on the middle class xG vlogger types who've infested Sky Sports News over the past year or two. Hideous.
Neive is class. I’ve seen a couple of clips where she has a controversial opinion on something but she actually has logic to back it up and argue her point. A very nice change from people just saying shit for the sake of it.
Jermaine Jenas is a better presenter than he was a footballer. Which says everything you need to know really.
That is exactly the kind of crap I'm on about. Ridiculous opinion for clicks. Shout out for the Garry Flitcroft mention though.
The Stuntpegg girl is an exception. Especially her stadium videos. Dude's real name is Brent Di Cesare. He literally created a persona to make bucks. He has put this out there, & still people watch this reaction videos. Unfortunately reaction videos are thing now. Football, movies, songs, etc. they all have it. Sadly this is the future of fan involvement. You will see more & more of this.
