Really no idea to be honest. It's very hard to tell how good our squad is, in pre-season we've beaten the smaller clubs and lost to the bigger clubs. No real big signings, hopefully Aaron Jarvis will get us goals and Brett McGavin has looked good in midfield but i'm expecting a mid-table finish. What are your fans basing their positivity about us on?
Still not showing all games on there currently but Southend v York is the main “tv” game but also not on there so hopefully will all appear shortly.
Only 150 adult tickets left for our game. Remainder are in the Family Stand which is ridiculously large, suspect that will be changed in the future as we don't need it.
Must have been as the club have now amended the South Lower, so adults don't need a kid with them to go in that section. Only part of the home areas where you can buy a pair of seats next to each other. Looks like a sell out for Saturday and already COSU have shown they are about increasing income.
Sooner they open the block at the end of the West Stand the better. Hopefully the plans to make the North Bank home supporters with potentially safe standing will be done by next year.
Hope you are not banking on Jarvis and McGavin, Good News: if played regularly Jarvis will get 10-20 goals assuming he takes your penalties, McGavin will score some Worldies, particularly free kicks and have his own goal of the season competition, you will question why is he only playing at this level. Bad News: Jarvis has a record of playing for relegated clubs, whilst McGavin cannot tackle, turns slowly and has one pace, if you play him in front of the back four, well good luck to the central defenders, if you play him further up he will be by passed. You will question how is he playing at this level! Good Management may well result in these being good acquisitions for you but……
Can’t really get a much easier game first up at home to a side fancied to struggle, last season we got of to such a slow start so we can’t let it happen this season if we want to be pushing higher.
Poignant we are playing York on Saturday, with the sad news of Alan Little passing today. Club have been asked to do something obviously, nothing more suitable in my book than a minutes applause for a well loved former player and always a Shrimper. RIP Alan.
it was worse last season, with the holes the fox's had dug in it. Now Ron's gone and the bills are being paid heavy watering over the next few weeks will work wonders.
