We've got a new pitch. Woo hoo. And it comes when I'm not getting a season ticket for the first time in 30+ years. Home form was poor last year. Needs to improve. I've no idea what we've been like in the first 3 aways but last night was the sort of result and scoreline we produced on the road last season so let's see. You can tell Milly had an input in this appointment just by the way he talks etc. I can only hope he intends to get us scoring more than 1 a game at home which is what we averaged last season.
Games don’t come much bigger than us v Kidderminster. Beat these and it’s a great start to the season
Brackley away will be an interesting test for me to see how we've progressed. Since relegation we've had a few chances to put a good run of wins together. Then comes a fixture like this against a side that are / you'd expect to be in a relegation scrap. (And no offence to Brackley but I'd imagine most will have put them in that bracket). These are games we've previously looked all nice and tippy tappy with plenty of the ball but done nowt with it and ultimately dropped points to a poorer side and killed off a run. If we want to go up that needs to have been put to bed. We need to turn the occasional run of 3 or 4 wins punctuated by frustrating draws and 1 goal losses into wins into repetitive 6/7 game winning runs. While I'd take the scrappiest of 1-0 wins right now, if we can adopt some ruthlessness and a repeat of last night that'll go a long way to banishing some of the hoodoo from the last couple of years.
I think Carlisle will beat Wealdstone, I think away from home we lose a lot of the current pressure and can relax better which will help, plus law of averages they are due to drop some points. not sure what we will play grumbles all round currently
Kretzschmar came off with what looked like a calf injury on Tuesday night - if he's not available then that's a big blow for us. I'm hoping the tightness of the ground, late kick-off and unfamiliar surroundings play into our favour. Reading your forum, please play Josh Grant at LB, I wouldn't say he's unfit, he just runs like he's in quicksand.
Frankie McAvoy calling Sam Cox, Brian Cox is just too good. Also Wealdstone have got lucky - nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
We're going great guns at the minute and Halifax don't seem to be scoring much, so have to fancy our chances.
Because we’re shite and have been shite for 2 years now! Its bloody hard to see good results and performances coming when they are so rare.
I got it wrong that season. But we nearly went down the season before so it wasn’t that wild to predict. I also got it wrong last season when I predicted 16th or whatever it was. Most of the time I’m a hopeless optimist (last two seasons being prime examples) and on very rare occasions I am too pessimistic like I was in 22/23.
I can't see us getting anything either as Jabo Ibehre will be co commentating on the radio so his jynx goes on. Plus I've lost faith in our team, management and club. We know **** all about this league and that's what's killing us.
It was a strange interview from a man who helped coach a team to relegation from this division last season. Brian (or Sam as he’s known at the weekend), should just play snippets of that interview pre-match .
I feel a little sorry for Wealdstone that we have announced Hughes isn’t going to be there, he’s a big name may have attracted a few more Home fans down but suppose with their start it won’t matter. am a little worried that Hughes isn’t there, family issue so cannot complain because we have all got out of work for a family reason, but just don’t really remember a Carlisle manager not being at a Carlisle match before…..may be wrong to be fair to the assistant, interviews may not be his thing and he’s just been thrust short notice into it all
