Tbh its not effected us. We have been shite since relegation and finished way off the top 7 never mind top 2. We also finished 2nd bottom in league 2 the year we were relagated so would have gone down regardless. Only time will tell if it effects us going forward
It wouldn't be a terrible result but people saying they'd take a point v Barnet, I wouldn't. I think we have to take the game to them. Our home record needs improvement, we've pissed away home games v Braintree and other bottom feeders without taking three points so we have to go on a run. We'll see what the players are made of, this is quite a big game for us in the context of the season.
Quite agree, everyone should be doing their best to beat Barnet, York and Oldham from now on I reckon.
Having negotiated Dagenham and Yeovil away picking up 6/6 both tricky games, feel Hartlepool fall into same bracket. No reason to think we can't continue our form. Players travelled up Thursday from Yeovil so preparation won't be an excuse despite playing Wednesday. Bees to win 3-1
Ain't gonna be an easy one but for a team at the top they've lost a lot of games on the road already, we should be aiming for three points at home whoever we're playing, 90% of games at home have been rancid this season and yet we've still only lost twice. We have a forward four that tops anyone's in this league, we just need to stop overplaying everything, we try to walk the ****er into the net far too often, everyone wants an extra touch, a second turn, another cutback, we saw what happened v Fylde, Campbell picks it up, bangs it from the edge of the box and we knock in the rebound, simple stuff, we just don't shoot enough, if that changes I think we become a problem for teams.
Would agree that Dieseruvwe is decent but not sure the rest could be labelled as best in the league. For me, Forest Green have the best forward line in the league
Agree, they aren't the best in the league and they haven't racked up the stats to make that claim but a lot of that is down to how Sarll set up and pissed them all off. They'd have more goals and assists if we'd got the appointment in the summer right. I'm especially expecting more from Campbell now Sarll has gone, he reported him to the PFA for bullying one of our young full backs and since he's gone he's getting in a groove. Our forward options are top 4 or top 6 I'd say.
I thought they were the strongest in pre season and nowt's changed for me, there's certainly better players elsewhere in same positions, but pound for pound as a unit, I don't think there's stronger then Charman/Campbell/Grey/Dieseruvwe, that's not even including Mancini, they'd just been hamstrung by a negative manager in Sarll who had no interest in having them press and play actual football. This could all turn out to be pure waffle come the end of the season when we finish 16th but I've got faith it's turning for the better and they'll show it.
We are a little similar at times & don't get me wrong it is clearly working pretty well but we should honestly have so many more goals - Browne is probably the only one that instantly thinks of scoring when he's 30 yards out & he's only been fit about 5 games. Before these 2 brutal journeys to Yeovil & Hartlepool in under 72 hours I said I wanted 4 points from them (seeing Hartlepool as the harder game with Yeovil's suspensions), but I'd bloody love to stay top tomorrow & therefore for at least 2 more weeks before our home games vs Ebbsfleet. Cannot see York dropping anything to Maidenhead, especially after resting half them team midweek for some crazy reason so only a win will do that.
Taking the game to us is probably the best way to play us. We’ll give you opportunities, don’t you worry about that. We’ll create loads against you too.
Gutted we dont play in the league this weekend. Already have 1 game in hand, and will be a second on most this week. Praying it aint a harsh winter for pitches cos that could really start to bite if the continue to add up. Think ill become a Stockton fan for the trophy match
Fair play to your squad knowledge of forward lines. I struggle to name a single forward per team let alone 3 or 4
5 weeks ago,I would have wrote off tomorrow’s game as an easy win for Barnet, but not now. We look a lot more balanced, play some nice football & have Mancini,Madine,Lua Lua to come off the bench. Our weak spot is Waterfall & Parkes lack of space. Should be a cracking match & a tropical 13 degrees.
