Nice to see a fresh team going up and obviously Sky/TNT will be delighted to have the Tyne/Wear derby back.

Good to see them back. Leeds and Sunderland are two of England's biggest clubs historically and in terms of fanbase/catchment area. Not sure who that leaves as the biggest club in The Championship now.

They may go back down but sets them up financially to come back up again and give it a better go. I wouldn't write them off though as that'll be a tough place to go next season.

Great news - Sunderland a great club to have back and fantastic to have a non-parachute make it up.

We’ve only played each other a handful of times in the last 2 decades so a good fixture to get back!

Looking forward to seeing how some of their fantastic youngsters get on.

Slightly frustrating as we were heavily linked with a couple who definitely won’t move now!

Until they put it on at midday lol.

Newcastle-Sunderland and Southampton-Portsmouth are two fixtures to look out for next year.

Welcome back Sunderland! Thought of the four teams in the playoffs you probably have the best structure/chance of staying up next season. Some really good young players. Obviously will be a super tough ask, but I think you've got a decent shot.

Nothing against Sheffield United but with them going down and coming back then going down again AND having Leeds and Burnley come straight back up, I wanted Sunderland to win today just for fresh face purposes. Commiserations to the Blades and congratulations to Sunderland.

    Great away day ?

You've obviously never climbed a million steps to get to your seat before , but I kind of know where your coming from , they're loud f*ckers in full voice & just to think , they were regularly getting turned over at London Road only a few years ago , well done the Mackems .

Is the away end still up there? Was last time I went.

Rules are supposed to put away fans closer but Newcastle for example somehow get away with it, it might be a north eastern loophole!

It was closer to the moon than earth when we went on a Tuesday night 2-2 draw with the ex jailbird Marcus Maddison & I think Ivan Toney scored , it was a hell of a trek but they do have a lift for the oldies which of the 700 Posh who went that night was about half of us .:D , cracking ground though & Premier League quality .
