There are loads of players out there some on a free and some costing a lot of money. but if you were the manager of your favourite team and you had the same budget as your current manager has who would you sign.

as a Birmingham city fan I would sign michael McGovern, ryan shotton, tom bradshaw and jon toral.

who would you sign also what players would you sell

A realistic signing who we've been linked with is Sergi Canos of Liverpool. Good enough for this division and only 19. A lot of competition for him though in the Championship and La Liga. I would also want Roofe from Oxford as we need more goals in the side, but again lots of competition. A solid experienced centreback is necessary too, not sure if Distin would be realistic wage wise. I could probably go on as we need a lot in order to avoid relegation..

We don't really have many players left, so selling is tricky. Wouldn't mind Danny Williams going at all. Must be our highest earner and shouldn't be a first choice CM for us. Anything over £1m i'd take with just a year left on his contract.

Liverpool Echo has Canos to Bristol City, £2.5m + add one and a % of next fee from what I've heard.

We need at least one centre forward, we've only got Dicko & Mason at the moment. Been linked with Idrissa Sylla from Anderlecht, no idea who he is but we've apparently had a £2.3M bid accepted and have agreed terms, just waiting on a work permit now. Also been linked with Jason Cummings (shite), Matt Smith (shite) and Ashley Fletcher (no idea).

We also desperately need a left winger and a left back. We've been linked with Adam Reach on loan which I would be happy with. Hopefully we don't go anywhere near Jeremy Helan.

We should sell Kevin McDonald as he's apparently fallen out with our boring manager over our boring style of play. Seeing as it looks like Jackett is staying on it looks like Macca will be out the door.

We definitely shouldn't sell either of Dominic Iorfa or Kortney Hause but we probably will. I'll be fuming if we don't get upwards of £10M for Iorfa, Moxey will probably be happy with 6.

We're close to signing him anyway, supposedly, he fits the bill for us.

    We need left-sided defensive cover.

Thought his loan ended this season, we wouldn't stand a chance of getting him anyway I would imagine.

Donny and Blackburn fans described him as pretty solid on another thread, can't knock any of Grayson's defensive signings thus far so we'll have to wait and see, if it goes though. Certainly taking his time about it although he's supposedly been away on holiday.

He's tall and has speed as well, always struck me as a bit vunerable when his back to goal. Whichever, he's a good lad and I wish him well.

We need one, maybe two new centre backs, a right winger, a centre midfielder and two new strikers. And that's not including if we need to replace anyone who leaves.

If I had to choose some ins:

Jonathan Kodjia (Bristol City) - £5m(?)
    Patrick Bamford (Chelsea) - Loan
    Aaron Tshibola (Reading) - £3m
    Alex Pritchard (Spurs) - Loan/James Forrest (Celtic) - £5m

Don't know who I would bring in as a centre back options to be honest. The main priority though should be keeping hold of Timm Klose.

Out: Bassong, Lafferty, Andreu, Turner, Van Wolfswinkel. Those are the ones we should be looking to sell anyway, as well as send a few youngsters out on loan. Bennett, Rudd, Mulumbu and Odjidja may leave as well.

As for our 25 man squad:

    GK: Ruddy, Rudd, Kean
DF: Klose, R.Bennett, Martin, New CB, Pinto, Whittaker, Olsson
MF: Howson, Tettey, Dorrans, Mulumbu, Tshibola
    WG: Pritchard/Forrest, Jarvis, Brady
    CAM: Naismith, Hoolahan, Odjidja
    ST: Kodjia, Jerome, Bamford

    Not including any youngsters.

I would have loved Toral but its clear there are several obstacles in the way, the signing of Robert Tesche 99% puts the signing to bed anyway.

McGovern is a good shout and one I would welcome but i'm not sure if Rowett is looking for a Number 1 I think he is trying to mold Legzdins into the role as much as possible behind Kuszczak and at 31 i'm sure McGovern would want as much first time football as possible.

Shotton had a shakey time at Blues but I think it was more him trying to play in a side that was at the end of a long season I think he would be worth the gamble, I think the young lad Rico Henry at Walsall should be top of the list IMO

I was disappointed to see Ajose go to Charlton from Swindon its clear we are short upfront and now letting Denny Johnstone go, we only have Donaldson so its clearly a position that needs strengthened. I'm not 100% sold on Bradshaw if i'm honest.

Have a feeling we might be looking to sell Vydra and loan out Jerome Sinclair.

    Sign

Left wing-back, left side utility player (or left sided defender than can play left back)
    Second striker.
    Specialist midfielder. (cover)
One or two central defenders. (cover)

    Get rid:

    O'Grady (striker)
    Holla (midfield)

    Part exchange for better

    Baldock

    Replace

    Forster-Caskey (left-side midfield)

    Sell and replace:

    ManU (striker) Alternative speedster needed.

    Accept offers

    Rohan Ince (midfield) Replacement needed.

    Injury concerns:

Solly March (winger) position covered by Knockaert
    Hünemeier (central defender)

Mostly replacing older players like Crofts, Greer, Zamora and Calderón

And signings which I thought we shouldn't have signed: OGrady, Baldock, Holla, in the summer of 2014.
