Id happily take a defeat at Derby on Tue, for 3pts home to Carlisle (of course id like both) how do others feel, lose a league game for a glory win in the cup. there would be some great scalps for some, and a chance of a plumb tie next round. Aston Villa v Rotherham Leyton Orient v Hull Peterborough v Reading Stoke v Walsall Sunderland v MK Dons Burnley v Preston QPR v Swindon Everton v Stevenage Bristol City v Crystal Palace Liverpool v Notts County Tranmere v Bolton Carlisle v Leicester
I really want us to win tomorrow night because ill be home when the 3rd round is taking place and id love to see another game after the 2 im seing so far.
Of course i'd take a defeat at Villa for 3 points on Saturday at Notts, which right thinking fan wouldn't?
I'm not one of these league over cup every time types, but we've made such a great start it'd be nice to keep it going in the league. Still making the third round and pulling one of the large London clubs would be nice.
With regards to the Hull game I would gladly take a defeat there to keep up our 100% league record at Colchester. It would be nice though to win and shut that jug-eared cauliflower faced buffoon Bruce up.
Yeah I'd like to see us go on a nice little cup run...but would rather see us get the 3 points on Saturday.
The start we have had will prob continue with 2 defeats on the trot But............I'll gladly tek 2 wins like v Lesta & Brentfud
If we had drawn QPR or LIVERPOOL. id have said take a win.and lose the 3pts because both would be a massive win for different reasons.
One thing I will say to that, is that the memory of beating Man Utd in the cup will probably last longer in the memories of those fans than any relegation.
I think it's a balance, I like the two main cups equally as much as the league and thoughts are pretty much 'if we're not going up, let at least watch a decent cup run'. The JPT I don't like at all though (even if we did win it once) or want to take seriously. While I see the point of it give smaller clubs or occasional visitors from the Conference a chance at League One sides and have a small tournament of their own it also feels like a waste of time and excessive demand on teams that don't have deep squads and would do better to rest players instead. At the same time I suppose it can be dull, this time I think no-ones really interested by our draw with Sunderland among either the fans or team. While usually I think we'd be up for an away day up at the SoL it's just not there this time cause we drew them last year and it doesn't really feel like we have a chance, a big side that will cleanly see us off without any real difficulty or excitement like Barnsley in last year's FA Cup. Also that we have Sheff Utd away on Saturday which is going to be a key league match so I guess it can be 50/50 t times.
