There’s a four kilometres round trip walk that you can do on Magnetic Island. It’s called The Forts and it’s an easy slight gradient track for the most part but the last 800 metres or so is made of quite steep rock path. At the top there are old gun emplacements that the Aussie army installed in readiness for the Japanese invasion during WW2 that never came. The guns are long gone but the views from the top are spectacular and the park boasts a colony of some 800 koalas. We spotted four, and there’s a couple in this picture which is why we only spotted four, they hide well.
I went o Sri Lanka and Thailand a couple of years ago but not anywhere since as I am a teacher and I'm broke.
Overseas with Gareth - September 2017 Overseas with a friend - March 2018 In the UK with Gareth - May 2021 We made a decision that we wouldn't leave the dogs behind a couple of years ago unless someone lived in our house with them
Having to pay twice as much for the same holiday as somebody else, because you can only travel at peak times, is shite.
Yes it is more about the parents as they are charged twice the amount as you say, I am tarnished with the same brush and sadly, parents have to pay the cost also for taking their children out of school which is fair but then the prices in holiday time are bad and unjust.
Have you looked into joining trusted house sitters? We joined it as sitters not owners of pets and it’s a great set up. Holiday pet sitting, with love
An interesting concept ..... now if I could just find someone with a nice house on the Algarve near the sea who wants their pets looked after that would work out really well
