Yeah such an awful year for me

Anyway he didn't play much, but now with Perisic gone he will be a starter.

A host will be chosen at the 74th FIFA Congress in 2024. So I think that means all nations get a vote.

Having a WC in Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Morocco, Spain and Portugal means no UEFA, ACN or CONMEBOL in 34. Having Mexico, USA and Canada in 26 means no CONCOCAF meaning Saudi Arabia are hosting the 34 WC.

Now, that's fine, sure. Maybe Ronaldo will be the commentator, but it means 38 will have to be in the Caribbean or New Zealand. Unless an Australia/New Zealand joint bid could count.

probably been said, but plans to hold a game in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay which is somewhat farcical with main event in Morocco, Portugal and Spain. Would be a joke if they have to qualify, even more so if they don't, and unbeatably so if they are given "host" statuses

really growingly no point in qualification. 48 out of around 208 teams is about 1/4 and 64 or so would be about 1/3

I get some people "think" it's nice to have countries qualify who haven't before, develop the game, spread the love, blah blah blah, but qualification is supposed to be a process of merit, earn a place at a prestigious event not just open the floodgates and let everyone come

low quality, like three CONCACAF teams hosting in 2026 and that is the two strongest plus a n other, and still three AUTOMATIC spots from the stripped region and two play-off places - the latter probably won't matter as teams like the banana republic of never eardofem probably won't progress anyway

don't also forget the duration aspect, 4-5 weeks is plenty long for a tournament, loses its edge if it drags on, and this is set for six. and if games are one-sided or drab games lacking quality, or indeed two sides simply cancel each other out, what's the gain?

if it is about sharing the money, just f in do it. like the argument re lost revenue of cup replays, share the money better and don't need the lucky dip of a replay or watering down a competition
