Now this is one of my favourite goals but it's the goal that took us to the 2002 World Cup.
We were in Slane Castle watching it on huge big screens before the U2 concert. There was about eighty thousand at it.

21 June 1986 is a date i know exactly where i was. Was the day of the quarter-final of Brazil v France. Had gone for the day to Ffrith Beach which is a few mile from Rhyl. Was clock watching as i knew the match was on a little later in the day. We ended up leaving for home a little later than i had hoped and when we got back to base i ran all the way home to catch the game. Missed the first 10 minutes or so but was in time to see Careca score the opening goal. Platini equalised just before halftime, Carlos the Brazilian keeper pushed Bruno Bellone off the ball when he was through on goal and the ref did not even blow for a freekick and Zico missed a penalty. We went to a penalty shootout. Was gutted when Brazil got knocked out.

I can just about remember the 1986 world cup.. I was 3, and we were on holiday in Tenby at the time. My Dad was watching the Argentina game in the caravan park bar, but I was more interested in the washing machines.

2002 was the first one, though I don't remember much of it, I support Italy due to my large Italian background and I get a boner thinking about 2006, which was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen

One of the most amazing semi finals ever, it was 0-0 deep into extra time, heading for pens, and Grosso and Del Perio bag 2 goals in the final minutes of the match. I was running round the house screaming when Perio scored the second, amazing stuff :)

When that winning penalty went in I went mad! I was only 10 or 11 at the time but I seriously went mad, all the family were celebrating, we put on Italian music and celebrated for hours after.

Amazing, I do hope all of you England fans do get a feeling of your team winning a world cup if you weren't alive in 66, It's some feeling.

Sorry if you're a Scotland fan though, I'm afraid you will never witness Scotland win a world cup, sorry :(

My first World Cup memory. I remember watching it and my dad jumping up and punching the ceiling when Owen scored. I was heartbroken when we lost on penalties, it was a lot for a boy of 7 to handle!
