Liverpool v some team a few years ago. Jamie Carragher handballs, referee blows for a free kick. Carragher rushes up to the ref and screams in his face "WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT FOR???"

Commentator: "That was for handball, Jamie."

I can't remember the words exactly but when Tim Lovejoy and Bradley Walsh was commentating on the Arsenal V Chelsea FA Cup Final in 2002.

The ball falls to Ray parlour and Tim Lovejoy says "It's only Ray Parlour" then of course he lets fly and scores!

Terry Angus at Liverpool away in the Carling Cup, when Abdul Osman scored the winning penalty, it wasn't really commentary, it was just screaming. Although, he did say before, "I apologise for my reaction if this goes in"

" You have to say that was magnificent " Barry Davies commented when Maradona rolled the ball into the net in the 1/4's v England at the 1986 WC.

'Theres 6 minutes of stoppage time..Christian Roberts is througghhhhhhhh..and gets the goal that completes the turnaround for Bristol City..Wild scenes at Ashton Gate'

Upon Christian Roberts scoring in the 90th minute at home to Hartlepool in the 2004 play offs to send us to Cardiff. (We'd been 2-1 down on agg 3 minutes earlier..!)

3:10 - "In goes Stewart......they've...they've only gone and done it!"

I don't think any Yeovil fan will ever, ever forget that night.

We did so well out of that game. Forest effectively bought Davies off the back off that game for £1m and although he was a good player for us, he was inconsistent and certainly wasn't our best player. He was unlucky with injuries at Forest but I'm not quite sure why they bought him in the first place.

He was pretty poor when he back here last season (or the season before, can't remember).

I remember that game, we were watching it in this pub and some sore loser Man Utd fan went and threw a bar stool at the tv screen just after that one went in

    another classic piece of commentary

1970 World Cup Final. Pele rolls the ball out wide from the edge of the box for Carlos Alberto to smash it in from an acute angle and the commentator ( think it was Ken Wolsentholme ) sums it up with " that was sheer delightful football ".

" and Smith must score ". IMO one of the most famous commentaries for a goal that never was in the 1983 FA Cup Final.

I can't find a link to it, but in when Swindon lost 0-7 at Bolton in 1997, the BBC Wiltshire commentator started crying.
