1st - Man City. Lost some key players, still have Haaland and KdB. Should be enough. 2nd-5th - between Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea. Could make the case for any of them to finish 2nd (OK, maybe not Chelsea) or to finish 5th. If I have to guess then I'd have Arsenal 2nd again then Liverpool then United with Chelsea in 5th. 6th - Newcastle. Can't see them managing to finish as high this season due to juggling league with the Champions League but should qualify for Europe again. 7th - Villa. Solid signings, Emery a good manager. Expect them to do well in Europe too. 8th - Spurs. Think this is where they finish regardless of whether Kane stays or not. 9th - Brighton. European adventure and loss of key players (I expect Caicedo to go before the window closes) means this campaign is not as good as last season. 10th - Brentford. No idea, Frank is a good manager so regardless of losing Raya they'll find away. Toney coming back in January will help assuming he's not snapped up by someone else in the window post ban. 11th - Palace. Roy was an uninspiring choice (never go back to an ex) but he'll keep them safe. 12th - West Ham. Will be fine even if their squad is filled up with Man Utd rejects (Moyes included). 13th - Fulham. Probably have enough even if Mitro chases the Saudi dollar. 14th - Burnley. Look better than the teams I've predicted them to finish above. 15th - Bournemouth. Decent signings, well talked about if unproven in the Premier League manager, defence still looks shit. 16th - Forest. Probably do enough. Signing less than 400 players this summer has probably helped squad cohesion. 17th - Everton. Dyche is gonna Dyche. 18th - Wolves. Would have had them higher but Wolves seem determined to get themselves relegated based on the last few days. 19th - Luton. Will start well a la Blackpool, Hull (1st Premier League stint) and Huddersfield, but run out of steam and come up short. 20th - Sheffield United. Weakening the promotion squad rarely ends well. Have said it elsewhere but Derby's record could be in danger if things don't improve.

I agree with this. Any of the top 3 could switch places, and anyone of 4-8 could finish 4th, but it will be tough for Newcastle, who hadn't planned to be in the CL this year, to balance the fixture list, Spurs look to be losing Kane, so you would think United, Chelsea or Villa or more likely.

Seems to be a bit more of a gulf in quality this year. Top 10 looks very competitive, especially 4th-10th. Then there’s a few clubs that I don’t think will fire on all cylinders but tick along nicely ie Fulham, Brighton, Palace, West Ham, Bournemouth. Then a clear drop off below that

Love these type of threads so allow me to embark on a ramble of epic proportions. Firstly, relegation. I think a lot of people believe Luton and Sheffield United will go down and it's a pretty fair take. But I think one of them will stay up. The complete lack of pressure on those two sides will see them play with freedom. Neither side have made any kind of substantial financial outlay and I think one of them (I don't know who) will get the points to stay up. Compared to Burnley, Wolves, Everton, West Ham....there's no expectation or pressure on Luton or Sheffield United. Wolves are doomed. Sorry guys. It's hard not to look at what's happened this summer with losses (Neves, Moutinho, Collins, Jiminez) as well as the departure of Lopetegui. Maybe Wolves fans can tell me but I feel like the mood around the place is just shit. So one of Luton/Sheffield United, Wolves and.......I can't decide the other team. Burnley I think are going to struggle a lot more than people think. West Ham had a pretty ropey league campaign last year and have now lost Rice (and are still in Europe). Everton seem to be down there every season these days and Bournemouth are taking a risk on with a young foreign manager. It'll be one of those clubs but I don't know who. Expecting Forest, Fulham and Brentford to be pretty unremarkable this year. Never in danger but never really threatening to do anything i.e top half finish. I think if they can get a striker in, Palace will come top 10. If they lose Kane, I can see Spurs finishing as low as 9th. It cannot be stated enough just how many points that man wins for that club. And I respect a new man like Ange is in and will get them playing and spreading the goals around but it is almost impossible to replace him. Brighton have lost Mac Allister and possibly Caicedo and that's why I'd have them lower than Villa. Villa have built on what they had and have made some nice aquisitions in the market....that said, Emery historically doesn't juggle Europe and the league that well. I have no doubts Villa will go very far in Europe but they won't finish much higher than 7th. Can't split Chelsea and Newcastle. I wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle go even lower as well. That squad is not ready for European football and they've added just three signings and I don't think it's enough. And then the desire to win something in that fanbase will not allow them to sack off the League Cup and FA Cup so Newcastle have got to put in a show on four fronts this season. I can't see it going well. Chelsea could potentially have a monster of a midfield. Enzo and Caicedo is great on a technical level. Losing Nkunku for a few months is a problem for them though and I think that will drag them down a little bit. Liverpool....I'm seeing a lot of confidence aorund them across the interwebs and I just can't shake the elephant in the room which is a completely rebuilt midfield. On top of that, they still look defensively awful. I think they'll be very much 2015-2017 Klopp's Liverpool. Still too many doubts about United for them to make any progression this year. Hojlund is too inexperienced, they still need a few signings and I think it's going a little under the radar that they'll need a little adaptation period to pay out from the back. The introduction of Onana isn't suddenly going to change United's build up. It'll help but it still needs time. Arsenal, on the face of it, have only lost Xhaka. And replaced him with Rice and Havertz. We've raised the floor in defence with Timber and stepped up the depth at GK too. I still don't think we have enough to overhaul City but I think we'll comfortably be in the top 4. City, can't look past them winning the league again. Although I do think they are not as well equipped to juggle the four competitions. So after all that: 1) Manchester City 2-4) Arsenal, United, Liverpool 5-8) Chelea, Newcastle, Villa, Brighton 9) Spurs 10-13) Palace, Forest, Brentford, Fulham 14-18) Burnley, West Ham, Everton, Bournemouth, Luton/Sheffield United* 19) Wolves 20) Luton/Sheffield United* Bit fence sitty but these are my views.
1) City 2) Liverpool 3) United 4) Chelsea 5) Arsenal 6) Spurs 7) Villa 8) Newcastle 9) Brighton 10) Brentford 11) Bournemouth 12) Palace 13) Fulham 14) Everton 15) Forest 16) Burnley 17) Wolves 18) West Ham 19) Luton 20) Blades
1. ManCity/Arsenal* 2. Arsenal/ManCity 3. ManUtd 4. Liverpool/Chelsea** 5. Chelsea/Liverpool 6. Newcaste 7. Aston Villa 8. Tottenham 9. Brighton 10. Brentford 11. Palace, 12. Fulham 13. Burnley 14. West Ham 15. Bournemouth 16. Forest 17. Everton 18. Wolves 19. Luton 20. Sheffield *Depending on additional signings from City. Imo their current squad is a bit thin offensively. Also depending on Arsenal's group stage **Depending on Liverpool signing a proper DM, otherwise I could see them struggling defensively 10th to 18th could be pretty close and I can see any of those teams get sucked into a relegation struggle or being comfortable midtable all season.
Can’t really disagree where most are placing us, think somewhere in 10th to 14th will be about right. Losing Toney, Raya and Jansson will be a something that is difficult to get over. Really don’t think we’ll go down but if we finished as low at 16th I wouldn’t be surprised.
