So last night after leaving the pub in Glasgow about 1am, wandering past the QMU where the NME tour gig had just finished and who should be wandering about outside? (youve probably guessed by the title of the thread...) only Jesus Christ-lookalike Andrew WK. So i shook his hand with a "wey-ey, doubleyoukay!", and my pal shouted YER ***** at him, and my other pal spoke to him for about 5 minutes. how ANNOYING must it be to be taking a quiet walk, and random steamin' jakes come up and shake your hand, shout abuse at you and talk ***** to you? dont you just feel so SORRY for these rock stars man?
BRMC were playing weren't they? Were they any good? Im goin to Manchester Uni on Saturday and getting tickets. How much were they goin for outside the venue?
I went to the gig at the Wolves Wulfrun last night. BRMC were great (I love the album) but the poor sound mix took some of the edge off them. Still, in a better venue (the Wulfrun is sh*te - the Civic upstairs is much much better) I think they'd be a top band to watch live. As for AKW, is his act for real or is it some kind of clever p*ss take? It was like watching a bad kareoke singer belt through the same song over and over again. I was helpless with laughter and the place got emptier and emptier by the second as chuckling punters wandered off in search of a kebab.
i met andrew wk b4 everyone heard of him he was doing a gig in a pub and i pointed out that i was a big fan and we spoke 4 ages - but he isnt right in the old head...
