I remember being in the concourse at HT speaking to one of my dad’s mates and we both said that’s the least convincing 3-0 up at HT performance I’ve ever seen. I never expected Sunderland to come back in fairness but if it was any team that I thought had a bit about them I’d have done the same.
Yeah. We were clinical more than anything. Then Aiden McGeady came on and just absolutely changed the game and we completely folded in on ourselves. Only didn't lose because of Frankie Fielding pulling off a worldie save from Ashley Fletcher. That and the Forest game a couple seasons ago where Lyle Taylor scored in the 91st and 92nd really stick out as being particularly horrid moments at the Gate.
I had no choice. My best mate I was staying with in Bradley Stoke is a Newcastle fan so went to the game by myself. He wasn’t meeting me until FT so we could go on the lash Glad I did stay in the end!! I just remember having no voice whatsoever. The highlight of a f*cking rough season that was.
In 2017 I came up to Sunderland with two Bristol City fans and a Leeds fan for a football weekend, we’d just turned 18 that summer so had a right weekend of it. The Thursday night we came up after work, the Friday we went to Leeds vs Sheffield Utd and Blades scored a late winner, train to Newcastle after the game and went out in Newcastle, the Saturday we got up early, drank in Sunderland and went to the game. We won 1-2 with a late back post header, then went out back in Newcastle and woke up the Sunday with no idea how we were going to get home. We managed to find a flight late on the Sunday evening back to Bristol. Amazing weekend, I still look back on it with great fondness. I didn’t feel that way on the Monday morning in work at 8am though.
Being young is so good the times we have should never be forgotten, mind u I still have 3 or 4 times a season going back to my youth even though I am in my early 50s. Football keeps u young.
Waited till FT and they opened the gates about 5mins later so alright. Probably helped we were shite and a lot wanted to go home or not drink beer in a confined space (Beer looked alright, tbf i had a pint at the Riverside the other week and that was nice and cold)
i was on a bus and got kept back close to an hour afterwards just had some more beers but what was funny was the coppers were saying there was some organised meeting afterwards hence the stop back i just think it was a way of getting more beer sold outside it was a nice day other than the result got back home at 12am then straight to a late bar rolled out at 4:30am
Had some reyt days in my youth but post COVID I've rarely gone away, miss it but now over policed and dull
ticket price for Coventry away are £37 then the £1:50 add on even U18s are £25 how they can charge these prices is ridiculous. quick look back through some ticket confirmation emails price plus £1:50 Sheff Wed was also £36 but U18s were only £15 Millwall £29 U18 £18 Blackburn £27 U17s £12 Luton £29 U19 £21 U17 £13 Leeds £30 16-18 £23 2-15 £20 subsidised by £10 on agreement between clubs Burnley £35 U18 £18 QPR £30 Norwich £26 12-17 £11 some prices are scandalous really don't know how they can charge that much when the PL is capped at £30 or at least was
Sold out away end from us at Luton on Easter Monday, still a few hundred left for Leeds next Monday but I'd have thought they'll be snapped up even though they're restricted view seats.
Our former CEO has stated this a few times. Ticket money for Championship equates to a far higher % of revenue vs Premier League attendances. Not saying that the price is right, QPR is far to expensive but it is the same for the home fans. We also do not do reciprocal pricing for this reason. Whilst it is shit for those that want to travel to support QPR, it makes no commercial sense for QPR to agree £20 tickets to say Leeds, where it will encourage a couple hundred more, and then lose out on around £30k revenue for when they come to town.
i agree somewhat but why should we have to pay say Coventry & Sheff Wed £37-£39 when the majority of clubs are like £10 cheaper i pay or share pay for 4 tickets my two lads get split as one is 17 and other is 15 so sometimes it's not that bad for them but £25 for them both for Coventry
It's just life mate! Everything is too bloody expensive. But if it helps, if it's expensive for the away fans then the home fans are suffering as well, but for 23 games a season.
well i do both so doubly expensive then i guess including all the travel that's involved as well QPR on a Tuesday night this season 12:30pm Cardiff away to name a couple
Exactly the same number as us last week. Sold out the full allocation of 3,219 although the final published figure was about 3,100 meaning about 100 people bought tickets, but didn't go, which is very odd. Next week we have sold out Swansea away, and been given an extra allocation, which we've also sold out also. A Swansea fan has been on our message board and said the 2,617 we're taking will be the largest away league following ever at their stadium, apart from one game in 2007 when Leeds took a few more. It will leave us with an average of just shy of 1,600 for the season, which will be 11th or 12th highest.
Sold 1,000 for Bristol City. No idea why these people do it to themselves, £35 a ticket, too? 16pts on the road this season. 3 wins.
