Bloody hell, its going to be like Ruud Van Nistlerooy Vs Thierry Henry all over again... Biased bastards, the lot of you....
Not at all. Liverpool fans will try to make it that to feel involved but lets be honest. Berbatov vs Drogba
Not really I admit that Berbatov is a better player but not too the extent some United fans are making him out to be, certainly not worth £10m more.
Hmm, why you picking on me? Four or five said they didn't understand Sorry, what you said went right over my head, still can't figure it out. Thirded
Don't you mean Henry was the best player in the premiership? Also i agree Torres is probably the best in the league right now and will probably keep getting better. Just a shame the team he has behind him sucks so much ass
Prices of players alot of the time in this day and age have **** all to do with the actual talent of players. A price of a player is often decided by how many years he has left on his contract. A player with more years will cost more money. David Bentley and James Milner went for 15 and 12 million respectivly. Over priced but you have to bare in mind both signed 4 year deals within the last year so the buying club have to effectivly buy out the remainder of the contract and the players talent plus the selling club knowing full well their player has 4 years left on their contract is under no pressure to sell for the sake of it Also, the amount of other interested parties helps raise a players value. Only Liverpool wanted to sign Keane where as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich were all at some point rumoured to be interested. Best example I guess would be Liverpools very own Michael Owen. Out of contract and not signing a new one. Sold for 8million....bargain. A year later he goes to Newcastle for 16million. Now did Owen become twice the player in that year at Madrid. Did he ****, just first sale he had a year on his contract second one he had about three thus cost more. Be interesting to see how long Keane and Berbatov had on their respective Spurs contracts... nah, Shearer was the best player in the Premiership....
Nope. Ronaldo is the best player. Liverpool have a very good team. I actually think too much is made of their stars (who I think are not as good as everyone makes out, Torres excepted). Gerrrard goes missing in 'minor games' (when they draw v wigan or whoever [some LFC fan will point out they haven't drawn against Wigan for 450 years, missing the point]) but I honestly think that the players believing they play for a 'big club' helps, and they have some team spriit, and the Kopites aren't bad at helping at home. And I know Liverpool fans will slate me, but if Kuyt, Pennant (proved), Benayoun, Alonso, Agger, etc moved to , say, Villa, would they be as committed? This was a compliment.
Good post....and very true. Sometimes you have to pay big to get the players you want - especially with other teams are bidding for the same player, and there;s years left on the contract.
With everyone fit, its arguable to say that none of those players mentioned even get in our starting eleven
