I may have to cancel my flights to Alicante due to my travelling companions poorly dad...

Called Ryanair tonight . To reschedule flight to a later date would be £40 per person. To use the same flight but one name being changed would be £160. Presumably, they hope to get the £80 to change flights, sell our original flights and make on what we book. Anyone else cancelled/re-arranged flights through ryanair ?

    No.

What you get with Ryanair is very cheap flights with no frills. What you don't get is customer care.

Having said that, every airline will charge for name change or change of flights. Flybe once tried to charge me £479 for a name change on a ticket I bought for £120, and that was just Jersey to Gatwick.

I must say I'm a big fan of Ryanair. Their fares are very cheap and if you've only got hand baggage and don't mind not sitting next to your travelling companion then the fare you see is what you pay. Cheap as chips.

It's ridiculous. £479 for an amendment. £50 would be a p*ss take but you'd suck it up and pay it.

Their fares are cheap. I was thinking of postponing our Alicante trip and going to Italy with my mum in May. Flights to Milan are only £16.99 each way. I pay more than that for a taxi into Norwich and back

You can't knock that can you? If you're dates are flexible it's so easy to cherry pick the cheap fares and get a great bargain.

You certainly can't knock it. Flights to Edinburgh only £12.99 each way from Stansted. That's a bargain in anyone's book.
