I’d take the rupee and run if I was him, even if Delhi got to the final he’d only miss a four dayer against Zimbabwe..
Day night Ashes test to celebrate 150 years of them. Australia v England 150th anniversary Test at MCG will be day-night match
I picked the wrong year to get kicked out of the country. That will be a blinder of a day/night out..
Delhi again qualify for the final of WPL. Will it be third time lucky for captain Lanning? My team Mumbai blew the chance yesterday to qualify directly for the final despite Sciver Brunt delivering with another top innings. We will face Gujarat in the eliminator. We did alright for the most parts of the game, but kept losing wickets. I was at the game yesterday. It's lovely to see so many little girls coming in to watch these games.
Well Wood will get a nice rest before the Ashes if he can come back fully fit . Mark Wood to miss England's Test summer after knee surgery
He'd be ideal for Perth to get us off to a winning start. Nice move by the Aussies to move the first test to the west coast as they very rarely lose there. Wood'll show 'em..
@Zydus must be pumped as the Mumbai ladies make the final. Another top notch performance by our Nat.. Franchise Cricket - IPL, WPL, PSL & MLC news, reports & reaction
Champions **** yeah. Thought we were 30 runs short, but Delhi crumbled under pressure while chasing 150. Marianne Kapp, who was in tears at the end, was the only one standing between us & the trophy. Sciver-Brunt was the tournament leading runscorer & player of the tournament. Amelia Kerr was the tournament leading wicket taker. Feel bad for Meg Lanning. One of the greatest captains of all times (men & women), losing her third consecutive WPL final. Also a word for Charlotte Edwards. A brilliant coach. I wish BCCI gets her to coach the Indian women's team. Great at spotting young talent & tactically very sound.
Brook has been banned from IPL for two seasons. Can't really blame anyone here. Brook wants to manage his load as a player & captain & probably wants more preparation time. For the IPL, the rule was brought in to stop players from gaming the auction (you can get more money if you go directly into mini auction instead of going into mega auction first that happens every three years). Brook will most probably have interested franchises, when he becomes available again.
Gone are the days when players on central contracts had to earn extra money elsewhere away from the England set up, now they’re all on highly paid wages and can afford to give the IPL a miss.
I really wish they did away with the impact sub rule. It's made the game heavily loaded in the favour of the batters & boring. On a side note here's hoping for another season of RCB being poor & seeing the meltdown of their fans. & I really hope Dhoni retires at the end of the season. I don't blame the man, but the circus around him last season was tedious to watch. It will be a repeat of that this season as well. As for my team MI, I'm really curious to see Bevon Jacobs we picked from NZ. I wonder if he will get a game ahead of Will Jacks & Mitchell Santner though.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer registered the most expensive bowling figures in the history of the Indian Premier League with 0-76 from four overs. Archer achieved the unwanted record playing for Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. It was previously held by India seamer Mohit Sharma, who conceded 73 from four overs for Gujarat Titans against Delhi Capitals in 2024. The most expensive figures in T20 international history were registered by Gambia's Musa Jobarteh, who conceded 93 against Zimbabwe last year, while Sri Lanka's Kasun Rajitha has the worst figures between two Test playing nations with 0-75 against Australia in 2019. Wish him well on a full recovery . Tamim Iqbal: Former Bangladesh captain in hospital after suffering cardiac arrest
Remember him scoring a brilliant century for Bangladesh at Lords many years ago now. Hope he pulls through
A thriller in the IPL last night with Delhi beating LSG by one wicket in reaching the target of 210. Made all the more amazing that in reply they were 7-3 at the start of the chase. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...w-super-giants-4th-match-1473441/match-report
End of the Gabba in 2032 after the Brisbane O,Olympics. 2032 Olympics: Brisbane to build new 63,000-seater stadium for Games
Australia are so far ahead of us when it comes to sports stadiums, not just in facilities but where they are geographically. Our so called prize assets arena-wise are Lords and Wembley and they are both notoriously shite at getting out of when play has finished. Look then to the MCG, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and soon to be Brisbane and they are all easily accessible to get in and out of.
One of those rare games where despite the big totals, the pitch wasn't all for just the batters. & the chase was all down to a calculated attack by Ashutosh. I dont mind high scoring games like that, where the pitch offers something for the bowlers. Yeah I am looking at you Hyderabad & your awful pitch, where we might see the first 300. They should learn something. On a side note, the game involving Punjab & Gujarat was another highlight on how tactics can really turn things for the bowlers. It was pure tactical masterclass by coach Punter & captain Iyer. Similarly yesterday Nehra gave his own coaching masterclass to make my team look absolutely impotent in the chase. It a nice to see these things instead of mindless hitting.
