It's not pointless, as they are playing for the bronze medal. World Cup knock out games are also worth a lot in terms of ranking points, so can really help with seeding for future tournaments.
Normally I'd agree it's a bit of a non-event but Morocco will be bang up for it and TBF we've had some classics in the past. South Korea 2-3 Turkey in 2002 is one that springs to mind. Hakan Sukur with the fastest goal ever in a World Cup if I remember correctly. Croatia will want to add to their impressive list of recent WC finishes as well so I actually think it could be a decent game with both sides abandoning their defensive mindset for once.
Likewise , 3rd & 4th placed matches without much at stake are usually far more free flowing than the final itself where both teams can be more in fear of losing than confident of the win .
Thought I'd give this game a miss as it had boring 0-0 writ all over it.... 8 minutes in already 2 goals Where's that remote...
Brilliant goal there from croatia. Not sure I've ever seen a goal like that especially from a free kick. Something a little different like the Netherlands set piece
