I see Albania have lost just 3 of their last 12 games (to England, France and when they were reduced to 10 men v Lithuania). I remember thinking they played pretty well against England. Could be an decent test on Saturday.
It should be a good test for you - very organised, hard to break down. Typical of 60% of the teams in the Euro's and especially the group stages. As an outsider looking in i think you guys have one of the best groups for the neutral - All four would be credible teams in the last 16. I have Turkey as a dark horse based on recent WC qualifiers, Switzerland are always in the Euros/World Cups it seems and are never a push over and i don't know much about his Italy team but i see a lot of excitement over them and of course yourselves - a good mix of youth and experience. I did hear Baku will feel like a home game for Turkey with lots of fans taking the small journey. This could be a factor but 3 points a decent GD should be enough to qualify for the next round.
Am joking , I hope you do well . I think Scotland will finish in 2nd in our group but in yours Italy are flying atm & Turkey looked superb in qualifying , not sure about the Swiss though .
Switzerland is our first game. If we can get off to a good start we’re in with a decent chance I reckon.
Seems like a bit of a mess from the FAW when it comes to sorting out tests, and getting the results in. Not a massive surprise to be honest. Should be about 6,000 allowed in today though which is good. I think we'll go quite strong tonight. I think there's a lot of players who could really do with some more minutes, having not played the end of the season due to injury or just not making their sides. I think Cabango will come in, and I think Hennessey will be given a chance. I can see Davies and Ramsey potentially having their minutes upped to a half. Rodon, Davies, Morrell, Allen and James all need the minutes. I can see Tyler Roberts and Matt Smith getting chances at some stage, and I think if fit Ethan Ampadu will hopefully get some sort of minutes under his belt going in to the tournament. Hennessey Rodon - Cabango - Davies C. Roberts - Morrell - Allen - RND Brooks - Ramsey - James
Neco's not suspended for the game which helps. Ampadu starting which is a big boost for his chances of starting the first game and Ben Davies and Aaron Ramsey also get a start. Tyler Roberts has been given a chance to impress, and so has Dylan Levitt. Hennessey Mepham - Ampadu - Davies (C) Neco - Levitt - Allen - RND Brooks - Ramsey - T. Roberts
Slow start, a lot of players just lacking on their touch and their sharpness which makes sense considering they've picked a side of players who really need the minutes having not played much or at all towards the end of the season.
Looking a bit disjointed and toothless so far. Hopefully Kieffer will get on to give us a focal point.
Frustrating result, took us way too long to get going with the lack of sharpness in that first eleven which I think cost us. Definitely better in the second half, and I think the game served it's purpose in terms of the game time that players are going to need going in to the tournament. The touch and passing of the players improved as the game went on. I'm confident that most of them will be up to speed for next week, but am a bit concerned about whether Ethan Ampadu will be up for it and ready for a start.
Better 2nd-half without ever really sparking into life. Quite a spikey friendly and a good work-out. Seems like no injuries and step towards match fitness for a few coming back.
