Meanwhile the match (Klassieker with "e" not to be confused with the "Klassiker" BVB vs Bayern :D ) was resumed today and Feyenoord won it with 4-0, Gimenez with another goal (3 overall).

WTF is going on at Ajax?

I read that this 0-4 is the highest home loss for them since the founding of the Eredivisie in 1956. Plus they sacked technical Director Sven Mislintat (who was btw sacked by Stuttgart before) because of some irregularities (among others the transfer from Stuttgart's Borna Sosa to Ajax is a bit dubious). And in the Eredivisie they're actually 14th with only 5 points from 5 matches.

What is going on with Ajax?
Can someone explain, because the press only gives generic info on this massive collapse of a huge club...

Well clearly the new manager was part of the problem.

    He has been sacked .

Anyone know why Feyenoord/Ajax was played midweek? Terrible for matchgoing fans...

Apparently were scheduled for very early this season, but a Police strike postponed it. This week was open.

Feyenoord v Ajax: Dutch derby postponed because of police strike in Netherlands - BBC Sport

Agree, not the most auspicious time for Amsterdam to inform Rotterdam (and perhaps Eindhoven, indirectly) that the Pecking Order is back to normal standard, unlike the last two seasons.

Well…we’ll see about Eindhoven. Perhaps the biggest Eredivisie match of the year on Saturday, with Ajax hosting PSV. An Ajax win puts them 5 points back of them (still) but with a game in hand.

Logjam of good matches on Saturday, my screens will be in full concurrent use. Times are CET:

    5:00 - PSG v Lens
    6:00 - Udinese v Juventus
    6:30 - Dortmund v Leipzig
    6:45 - Ajax v PSV

It has been a grand week watching Euro-football past 6 PM East Coast USA time, the latest it ever goes. (Only because our clock move-back is later than Europe’s. This Sunday morning we ‘fall back’.)

Good to note that Ajax are getting back to winning ways. PSV are a winning machine though so Ajax will have to win all their games if they want the title (including the game at the Philips Stadion in March).

I thought Ajax would lose when PSV led 1-0 then 2-1. Impressive comeback under pressure!

That's crazy. I saw Feyenoord were 2-0 up earlier and presumed the title would be won today

Mentioned it in the Buli thread but stumbled upon a Willem II game on Friday as couldn't get tickets for Munster/Hertha. Nice ground, low key, no nonsense, good beer but scran was shite. Still I'm sure Dutch football has much to offer. I'll go on a groundhopping spree at some point ticking off the big North (Amsterdam, Alkmaar) and other unfancied sides like Utrecht and Heerenveen.

Anybody else been to many dutch grounds (only did Feyenoord & PSV apart from Tilburg)?

I've only been to Ajax, would be nice to get to some of the others though.

I’m resisting the urge to do a Beavis and Butthead spiel centering around 11th place Groaning Again and other misunderstandings from our beloved American cartoon lads.

But yeah, did Ajax just blow the league!
