Not nursery rhymes obviously ,but the very first pop song you can remember really liking. I used to sing this repetitively around the house much to the annoyance of my parents like it was the only chorus around.
probably "hangin' tough" by new kids on the block. i remember road tripping to disney world in an rv and singing it with my cousin and sister. i think i was 5. other than that, pretty much anything by jimmy buffett. my parents love him and they played a live album in the car all the time. i'm certain my sister and i still know the words to every song
Teenage Rampage was actually the first single I bought with my own money. It was 16p. One of the earliest, if not first record I really remember listening to was this. I met the man while I was living in Jersey and he’s a really nice bloke, very humble.
Coincidentally I was going to say possibly NKOTB too. It was between 4 songs. NKOTB singing "Oh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh" or "Ooooh ooooh ooooh ooooh oh!, or the Blues Brothers versions of "Minnie the Moocher" and the "Rawhide" theme.
Damn good first buy, mine was the Sound of the Suburbs by the Members from the discount bin in Rumbelows which at the time I considered a good find. I was 14 and it was the first time I was allowed to go to town on my own with legitimate permission from my parents.
I mainly remember liking this cheesy Enya song about a load of nonsense, probably my favourite as a really young child. Her songs sounded like some other world... And this, I actually enjoyed the whole rickrollling thing, very nostalgic. Video has always made me laugh too.
Kate Bush was my second rock star crush. She was my posh after the bit of rough that was Suzi Quatro. Phwoarrr!
I can’t actually remember it being released, but it was my mum’s favourite song. If it wasn’t being played then she’d be humming or singing it whilst doing the housework.
Patsy was my ex wife's go to chanteuse when she was doing the hoovering ,she absolutely loved singing to her songs. I had a hard time distinguishing from the two ,because she had a beautiful voice .......Listen to me reminiscing about the past ,time to move on
I remember as a kid just before my teenage years began me and my mates would be listening to Slade, Mud, Sweet and that bloke with all the glitter, wishing we could become just like them (although now looking back, Jeez), while at home my older brother would be listening to and buying albums by Rod, Elton, Simon & Garfunkel and the solo Beatles so I kind of had the best of both worlds for a while. I'd try and tell my mates how good the new Elton John album was and all they could sing was Cum on feel the noize back at me..
