Especially noticable v Palace, where essentially they played as a flat back 5, an absolutely appalling sight.
Awful news, was just starting to get into some decent form as well. Has an eye for a pass. Torn ACL can be up to a year out right.
Unbelievedly, Shaw has had an injury setback. Man Utd suffer new Shaw blow as cruel injury setback updates return timeline
Yet another Premier League team in the Cup, for the 3rd draw in a row. city I notice have drawn non-Premier League opposition for the 3rd draw in a row. Fulham [H]
Manchester United are set to make more members of staff redundant as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's ongoing cuts, it has been reported. News emerged in June last year that United had begun to hold meetings with members of staff and departments to inform them about the risk of them losing their jobs. The news came amid Ratcliffe's ongoing review at Old Trafford after assuming control of football operations at the club. According to the Daily Mail, between 100 and 200 people are expected to be made redundant by United as Ratcliffe aims to significantly reduce the workforce compared to their Premier League rivals. The report claims that the cost-cutting measures being undertaken by United are aimed at helping strengthen the first-team squad, and it has been claimed that the number of redundancies will not exceed the 200 mark. United are reported to have had 1,112 employees on their books when Ratcliffe and Ineos Group completed a 27.7 per cent takeover back in February last year. This is reported to be more than any other Premier League club, including rivals Manchester City, who were reported to have had a workforce of 520 people at the time. Man Utd 'set for further redundancies' as Ineos continue cost-cutting measures If those figures are correct it begs the question why do/did United need an extra 600 employees?
Maybe we used to employ some part time staff that City used agencies for such as Stewards and other match day staff? I am not sure how outsourcing would save a great deal of cash so it might not be that, but it is a lot of extra people on the payroll.
Sunday's Guardian reports that Utd are set to make redundant some of the 80 scouts the club uses worldwide as a part of the ongoing cutbacks . Could be a good thing for the club so they play & use more academy players who've been synonymous in the clubs past glories , if they could also reign in signing players from whatever country the current coach is from then the upcoming future could be bright , I'll hold my breath on last comment . Utd come across as the club that is most wrong with football finances over the last decade , in the words of Ian Dury " What A Waste " .
Haven't heard this but given the torrent of absolute shite United have signed over the last 10 years I doubt these 'scouts' will be missed.
