I find it so weird. Every season in whatever cup. I want Spurs to win every game and every competition we're in.
Don't use Reddit but noted. I have hope at the start of every season that we'll win a Europa League, conference league, league cup, FA cup or whatever. Hoping we do nothing more than finish top 4 so we can get smashed 7-2 by the likes of Bayern doesn't cut it for me. Our fans have become very spoilt by Poch and even Redknapp to a lesser degree. A Champions League final is a once in a lifetime thing (literally!) for a club like us. I don't think we'll ever have a better period than 2016-2019 and you'd have to have been around in the early 60's to have experienced better as a Spurs fan.
All of those trophies are worthless and top 4 is everything is basically the opinion on the Spurs sub. Oh and that Lamela was immense. I only really use it for transfer speculation and club news in general. For the record I agree with you 100%. Rennes can go **** themselves though after their statement. We'll see what UEFA do about it. Though as I posted in the Leicester vs Spurs thread, the fact we have another positive case today means that people within the club are clearly not taking this seriously.
Another early exit from Europe then Think it's shitty from UEFA but ultimately we're out for taking a second string to Vitesse and leaving our first team players at home. Arrogant decision and one that means we've got no European football after Christmas for the best part of a decade.
I reckon it'll be good for you not to have this distraction in the New Year, but I agree it's a shitty decision from Uefa, it'll be interesting to see if they continue to kick Covid affected clubs out of Europe when the knockout rounds start.
Yeah, I made the same point in the European section. Technically we've been awarded a 3-0 defeat which is the reason we're out so I suppose if they're consistent they'd apply a 3-0 defeat in the knockout rounds if you miss a game due to Covid. So you'd still have the other leg to overturn it but it would make it very difficult. I'm OK enough with us going out because I think we're partly to blame for making such a hash of the first five games. It's shit from UEFA though. On a separate note, it probably speaks volumes for our football club that we've seemingly accepted the footballing decision and won't appeal but are looking at a legal challenge for the other consequences of going out (financial mostly). More than happy to crash out of a winnable competition but not happy with the lost revenues
Tottenham Hotspur are considering an appeal against Uefa's decision to award Rennes a 3-0 victory after their Europa Conference League fixture was postponed and they exited the competition. It was ruled Spurs should forfeit the match as they called it off because of rising Covid-19 cases. Manager Antonio Conte says the club are speaking to lawyers about the decision. "It is not definitive, but there is another step to confirm or not this incredible decision," he said. "We are very, very confident for the next step and I repeat we deserve to play the qualification on the pitch, not in the court. I can't accept this. We are very, very disappointed with Uefa for this decision. "It's unfair for sure. We deserve to play for qualification on the pitch, not in this way. I'm very disappointed with Uefa's decision. "I don't want to understand but I hope in the future something can change because we deserve to play for qualification on the pitch, not in this way. It's not our fault." Spurs may appeal against Uefa decision
