He played more time on left-side but his highest peak was reached playing centrally ... even in his beginnings in Sparta Prague he played as box-to-box as right-insider ... for that reason he always was very good to support to his teams in defensive tasks.
I include him in the general category of wingers but Nedved is a complicated case to rank him an specific category with clarity, for that reason some analysts consider him in the general category of wingers, others as trequartista and others as attacking-midfielder. In my opinion he was a left-midfielder as Robert Pirés or Fredrik Ljungberg not like Giggs or Gento. Well ... my point was that you said that Cruyff played better by central but that doesn't mean that he didn't reach one of the most high performances playing for left being that in this way he was also well known and almost no player has played as well on the left as he. The same with Rivellino .. he played better by the center. I mean, if you consider Rivellinho and Nedved, so Cruyff must be there too.
Have we? I don't care. Odiseo is saying Nedved is an AM just because his best performances were there even though he was blatantly a winger. So Rivelino played his best football on the left.
Rivellino clearly played his best centrally. But played so amazing for an entire tournament on the left that its clear he could play there too. Then again its a farce to think that any attack Brazilian player would only be good here only. Those guys can easily play anywhere as long as it involves creating and finishing. Nedved however was a winger. Odiseo's koolaid is just a bit too strong for my liking.

I just disagree with your logic on not including Nedved because you feel his best season was played centrally.
Well being that the greatest RW of all-time (Garrincha) will not make the starting XI, then I don't see why we need to include a true/pure winger on the left flank. Personally, I would rather have this genius as my LAM rather than any of the aforementioned left-wingers or forwards.
This video demonstrates that Maradona was capable of creating scoring opportunities for his teammates from either side of the field. Also, I don't see why Maldini and Thuram would have to stay back while the team is attacking, especially when you have that wonderful double-pivot (Matthaus-Rijkaard) in the middle of the pitch!
I considered that his peak playing left-wing/midfielder didn't reach the greatness in comparison with the peaks of other players (playing by left-side he never was one of the 3 best players of the world).
At the expense of the greatest footballer of all-time? Pele is a must in this or any team. Fielding O Rei as a # 9 is almost as bad as making Beckenbauer play as a DM, IMHO.
He's not even the greatest Argie of all-time but he still has a few years left in his pursuit of greatness. He may very well surpass Maradona but Pele? Oh no, never that; that ship has sailed.
