Cruyff could play in all the positions of the attack and midfield, so was more complete by far than CR7 ... he is one of the greatest playmakers and one of the most skillful players ever. His consistency and regularity throughout the time was very impressive reaching higher peaks than CR7 no doubt. Plus, Cruyff revolutionized the football because he is considered one of the greatest tactical players ever, I think easily the best among Di Stefano.
Cristiano is the absolute epitome of consistency. Cruyff may have been easier on the eye but nobody can match Cristiano's personal accolades. Nobody apart from Messi can touch him. Cruyff did less better. Ronaldo does more, without the little turns and tricks. He's a far more efficient player than Cruyff ever was.
Actually, the consistency and regularity of Cruyff were very similar than CR7's In the time of Cruyff there was more competition, better and more players and more teams that could compete. It was harder to be the best in the world. I just posted 40 matches about Cruyff (the link before I quoted you) and it can see that he was a better player in a clear way.
If he was as consistent as Cristiano then he clearly was never as good, as C.Ronaldo's stats are unrivaled by anyone ever. Cruyff was better in some aspects of his game. He had a bit more flair but Ronaldo is an absolute master at putting the ball in the back of the net and that is what wins you games. Look at the records that Ronaldo holds. Johan Cruyff was outstanding since he was a young of 19 years old. The problem was, in that time (late 60's) there were lots of great players like Gianni Rivera, Bobby Charlton, Eusébio, Tostao, George Best and Pele who were considered the best players in those years. But in the early of 70's he reached his prime and he was the best player of the world from 1971 to 1974, in fact in 1976-1977 season he was the best again ... his regularity and consistency in a very high peak were very impressive ... from 1975-76 until 1977. Today is very different, for that reason you can't compare their facts with the same importance through the different scenarios ... for example, today few teams dominate the world football and it is very normal they reach the finals but in Cruyff's time there were lots of teams and more and better players (than today), who can win the different tournaments, for that reason was harder by far become to be the best in the world. And Cruyff revolutionised the game when he was a player ... he has been the greatest example of the total football (well, I think Di Stefano was the only one over him in that sense). On the other hand ... about his abilities, no doubt Cruyff is much superior ... even I have seen Cruyff in the defensive midfielder place as deep-lying playmaker and from there, creating and organizing his team. The only player who can be compared with Cruyff is Lionel Messi.
