Thought there was a fair gulf between Boro and the Mackems. Le Fee looks quality, dunno how they managed to get him in like. Serious player.

Isn't it like a loan that will become a big transfer fee if they're promoted?

Do you really think Middlesbrough’s squad is 14 points worse than Burnley’s? Or even Sheffield United’s?

this Boro team should be comfortably in the play offs and no more than 6 points off that top pack. Carrick is underachieving

Don't think it's that severe at all tbh. I think Leeds are the only real standout squad and will probably coast to the title. Although they are also probably weaker than last season on paper.

Sheffield United under Wilder are Sheffield United under WIlder. Then they have a talent like Hamer on top of that. think their squad is better than Boro by a decent amount.

Then I think it's a group of Sunderland, Burnley and us. Obviously sunderland are lightning in a bottle, Burnley are a defensive machine and we've had a lot of bad luck ;).

Then it's probably Boro before a group of West Brom, Blackburn, Coventry and some others.

Honestly I don't think there's massive gulf in quality between anyone in the top half this year. I think Carrick might go if they don't make the playoffs but I don't think their squad is an automatic pick for it.

Another clean sheet looming for Burnley?

QPR ahead v Blackburn in a tight game.

Luckily we are only down by 2 when really they could have had 10.

Can't believe that wasn't at least 5. Coventry put in one of the worst defensive performances I've seen this season. Looked well and truly like a Lampard team.

Pleasing performance yesterday. Few different refereeing decisions and better finishing could have resulted in a few more goals, but got to be happy what with the form they were in/on.

Yep, particularly the save from Simms header will have been a real confidence boost for him. Many (including me) wanted us to get someone in Jan to replace him, but we haven't, so got to back him now.

Deserved win for us I thought. We should have been out of sight (by that, I mean 2 up) by half time really. Good performance though, Edwards looks a good signing and so does the kid from Spurs. Just 4 points behind Blackburn in 5th; yet we are 13th.

It's not really down to Lampard, we were just as bad defensively or even worse earlier in the season. Against weaker teams.

In the first half we looked terrified and it felt like we were playing against 12 men (I'm not making a joke about the referee!). We settled a bit in the 2nd but I think that was more down to you taking your foot off.

We didn't help ourselves by having a big hand in both of your goals. Dovin made up for his mistake though, as on another day, it really could have been 5/6. The amount of times in the second half that you ran through our high line on the counter.

I'm not overly fussed, at least we didn't get embarrassed. Leeds are by far the best side in the league. They are a step above Burnley and Sheffield United.

One positive I'll take is that Grimes looked quality when he came on.
