how often do you buy music? hmmmm what a boring thread Its just up until about 15 months ago Id buy about 1 CD a month. But in the last 6 weeks I've got 10 new CD albums, including 2 in the last 4 days. And thats me RESTRAINING myself too
Before I came to uni I used to spend about £50 a week on music, had to cut it back to about half that now though... My latest hobby is buying loads of cheapo random 7"'s...
£50 a week? what? I know you dont play an instrument...and if you were a DJ and you were buying ****loads of vinyl Id understant, but....£50? a week? Do you shop at HMV? If not - are you saying like 10+ albums EVERY WEEK?
I used to earn about £75 a week from my part time job and spend most of it CD's, works out at about 4/5 albums a week I suppose. Like I said down to one or two now though...
i was buying a 1 album every week minimum at one stage, then i stopped as i realised i was buying complete crap without thinking about the costs... :
oh aye, 4-5 (where did I get 10+ from? : ) I suppose thats vaguely unserstandable. Still about 3 times what I do but and I thought I was bad - and my pals think I buy far too much. My big sister is seriously concerned : she says "YOU WONT LISTEN TO THEM! YOUR WASTING YOUR MONEY! HOW CAN YOU DO THAT? and I have to hide behind the Hi-Fi to stop her hitting me
I'm a cheepskate when it comes to music, I didn't buy a single album which came out last year. Although to make up for that, I bought about 25 Albums off my flatmate for £50 a couple of days ago.
Rarely buy any albums unless they are something i want the original of. With tools such as Audiogalaxy and Morpheus, who needs to buy music. Even made my own video cd last week with 15 oasis videos on it.
How would you like it if you spent years forming a band and creating songs to get your message out, only to find your albums werent selling and so you get dropped by your record label. And then you're walkin down the street and every 11 year old you see is listening to your stuff... Also people who (like me) have invested heavily in great Hi-Fi equipment will tell you how crappy the sound quality (especially the mid-range) is on MP3's
