Surely on borrowed time, Spurs have gone backwards since they binned Poch. Bet Levy wishes he'd had more patience.
We really haven't, it's much of the same. Poch had us heading for relegation battle with tired players that didn't want to play for him anymore. Mourinho stopped the drop somewhat, but the same issues remain. And now he's totally lost the fan group and need to go before they return to the stadium. Rebuild must happen no matter who manage the team.
Half a bad season he might have turned around with more patience. Not saying it would have definitely happened but he'd finished top four in the previous four seasons.
It was closing in on a calendar year of relegation results. He had given up himself, just waiting for the sack. The players didn't want to play for him, Harry Kane as well gave Levy the go ahead. Pochettino train and demand the players to work twice as hard as every other team, which also leads to twice as fatigued players as everyone else. It was finished.
If he's gone because of the super league debacle then fair play to him. Just a theory, if he's been aware of this for a while, it could be why it seemed like he was phoning it in? I really suspect that's the case on Friday with the Everton game. I'm done with spurs now it seems. That's 28 years down the shitter. Why would we want to leave a league we can't win to join a league we won't be able to win . Oh right... Money.
Truth. And to be fair they have been where most of my attention and interest had been for the past 5-6 years.
Friday was shambolic. Certainly the least I've seen Mourinho care on the sidelines. His days were numbered, just convenient timing this morning. 32ish for me. Thankful for the memories but a little bit heartbroken too.
Don't give up on Tottenham yet, I don't think this is a done deal. Mourinho clearly gone, we're going to have to move on and hopefully save what we can from this season and regroup for next year but this isn't the end of the club. The bigger problem at Spurs now, if Levy goes and ENIC sell up, are we just going to get bought my some American outfit who will take us down the route the Glazer's have at Manchester United. Out of the frying pan and into the fire so to speak.
I don't believe it's done. I don't think it'll happen at all tbh but the intent was still there regardless. That speaks volumes for me and it's hard for me to continue supporting that. The club is rotten.
Spurs have been rotten for years. Keith Burkinshaw made comments along the lines of "there used to be a football club over there" when he left and that was 40 years ago. We got caught up in all sorts of non-sense in the early 90s with the Kit debacle, being banned from the FA Cup and some other shady shit to do with El Tel. Sugar ran it for a while the sold to Levy and ENIC who have run it as a business for years, fantastic at making a profit but ultimately not winners. We've done much better in the last 15 years (on and off) but still come up short when it mattered and this team we have now is completely finished. It would take years to rebuild it, Kane will be too old / injured to lead the line.
