Seems to be a typical modern day manager who likes a possession based game and I think tries to be fairly solid using quick players on the break .

i think he wants to give young players a chance but likes experience pros too - Sissoko was his captain for example.

I'm glad Knapper hasn't made the sentimental choice. It is a shame we're seemingly losing Wilshere though, Ornstein reporting.

    He was linked to us.

God knows why he would want to come when he's doing so well in France

Wanted Rohl but looks like he wants bigger and better things, Steve Cooper seems a sensible appointment, but probably a decision our board wouldn't make.

Mousinho is decent - if I was a Pompey fan and he left them for West Brom I’d be annoyed though.

Not a good result for Bristol City last night when rumours of interest in Manning are doing the rounds. I suppose it might depend if their owners are willing to splash a bit of cash.

Any Championship manager would be daft not to chase the money when their stock is high. Only takes a bad 4-5 months and they're out of work and struggling to get another club at this level.

Manning wouldn’t be a big loss mate. He’s done fine but I wouldn’t be bothered if he left.

He didn't say it in his interview but apparently has to a local journalist, Championship experience is something we are looking for this time. He also said that it won't be immediate so it probably means he's currently in a job.

Would not be surprised to see us linked to a Manning or Rohl in the next couple of weeks.

I think we can do better tbh. Objectively we've got a talented young squad that underachieved, money and a world class training facility.

Squad some people might not agree on after Sargent leaves I guess but most managers will back themselves with the money raised of that sort of sale.

You won’t do better than Rohl, he’s being linked with PL clubs and Leipzig. I don’t think Norwich is going to interest him.

You may do better than Manning, but there’s no reason he’d leave us for you. We’ve got exactly what you have other than a squad that underachieved.

Whatever we end up with it's a pretty massive couple of weeks for Ben Knapper. Get this one wrong and he'll be out of a job this time next year.

Honestly I haven't a clue but for the reason above I could see us actually doing the unthinkable and actually spending decent cash on a manager.

Probably overthinking it and it'll be Martin.

I remember seeing some Saints fans talking about him. A dodgy defender who sees himself as a passer, sticking around years too long because he's obviously good at the dressing room politics side of things.

We used to have a guy like that, name was Russell Martin.

Yeah you definitely underachieved this season. I think you have a better squad than Coventry and Bristol City and with the low playoffs points total needed to get in, you probably should have done it.

We still have no idea what is happening with our boss.

Clearly not gone to WBA and seems unlikely now but we are still paying him. Not sure if we can even hire another manager with him still here? I guess as long as he is being paid in full with bonuses we can but we aren't exactly flush so we need to resolved it one way or another.

An interesting name linked with us is Sage, the ex Lyon manager. Took over there when it was in all sorts of mess and got them to second (so basically won the league as PSG are a cheat code). Not actually sure why he got let go but he's been linked. Other than that, nothing really exciting being brought up.

Gary o Neil was a name brought up early doors, but I don't fancy him as a boss. Maybe this is his level, but Wolves and Bournemouth have both excelled since he left.
