A good game tonight both teams gave it there all, with passionate fans, and proper footballing areas, would be great to see both clubs promoted, massive home support and away support, Derby did me proud tonight worked our bollocks off, thought Ward, Adams and cashin was our stand out players tonight, great atmosphere as well, from both sets of fans, a good advert for division football tonight.

Hopefully next season Reading’s situation has improved and I can actually talk about football games rather than finances/legislation (and talk in League 1). Problem this season is that ultimately the results are pointless if the off the pitch situation isn’t sorted. Games don’t have the same impact, and also aren’t escapism away from the bigger problems.

Also discussion often gets quieter this time of the year as clubs have nothing to play for.

Yeah, I’ve not much felt like talking about this season, it’s been mind numbing but it definitely doesn’t help that this section has about 6 regular posters.

Yes funny because another site I use has loads on the League One/Two forums and no one in the PL/Championship ones .

I've not been to a game since the start of February. I do miss it but there's no way I'll get to another game until next season when hopefully I'll have full walking back. The joys of double knee surgery :(

Good luck with your recovery .

Knees are weird things , I had a grade 2 tear in my medial collateral ligament around 5/6 years ago & took around 6 weeks to recover after a cycle accident ( black ice ) & still to this day even if it's dry I'll slow down at where it happened , knees recovered but mentally not 100% .

You lot could be next season's Pompey as in a big club / fan base being in tier 3 for too long although , you'll need to sort that dodgy defence out .

Should be at home to Fleetwood today who have a decent record at London Road but the distraction that is the Tinpot Trophy awaits instead for ourselves & Wycombe , it's got 0-0 draw written all over it .

Pompey are as good as champs , well done .

Good win 4 Bolton keeping pressure on Derby .

Barnsley wobbling & the battle for 6th is looking interesting , Oxford or the Wimps who are bang in form .

Millers back down ( again ) for next season & could we have hordes of Birmingham fans descending on our tiny tinpot stadiums also .

I ruptured both patellar tendons at the same time, which is the ligament from the kneecap to shin which allows you to flex the knee. Got 2 weeks and a half left with the knee braces on.

If we can continue this unbeaten (in 10) run into next season then who knows what will happen. Playoffs minimum.

    Slowly creeping towards safety..

Heard a lot of people say we're now safe with that, I wish I could share their confidence. We have the toughest run-in of the bottom clubs (with 3 away games) with teams scrapping for relegation normally picking up surprise results - as we suffered from Huddersfield's miraculous turnaround last season. Also until the takeover is done we can never count out the threat of points deductions.

That said, we have one quality that most of the other clubs at the bottom struggle with - scoring goals. Probably jinxed it now, but we're on the longest run in the EFL of scoring in consecutive games (16), and have only failed to score in 1 of the last 30 league games.

One more win and that should be us safe.

Cheers , taking over from you guys as holders after your demolition of Plymouth last season .

An amusing game settled by footballing karma , in our 5-2 loss at Adams Park our GK Bilokapic ( now dropped ) made 3 howlers & today Wycombe's GK who I've never heard of ( i thought they had a decent Polish GK ) made 2 howlers in arguably a far more important match :laugh: double KARMA , & now our season like yours last year will implode & blow the play offs , again , ( hopefully ) i feel at home in League 1 .

I'm more embarrassed really by our fans and a few other fans just basically mocking the crowd at the final as if attendances win matches when intact it's footballers. We normally take this competition seriously whereas alot of other clubs just play reserves or youths. This competition for most clubs at the level is the only silver wearing they will get to see there team to win.

I think Portsmouth and Derby will finish in the top 2 but I suppose both clubs do have an outside chance of making the top 2 but probably means having to win every game.

You got port vale this week and my mate the vale fan doesn't think they will lose 8 nil now thinks it's more likely be a 1 nil loss. He showed me the vale forum posts for the game where fans were basically saying it's a definite loss, if it's a 1 nil defeat then it will be celebrated as a win.

Strangely enough , Posh take the EFL trophy seriously as it's along with the play offs realistically 1 of only 2 chances players & or fans get their big day out at Wembley .

As for lack of fans , I can't speak for Wycombe but Peterborough is an ever growing impoverished city & has been since the early 1990's & also a transient migrant city , if you stop & ask the first 100 people in the city centre were you born here you'd probably only get 15-20 yes's .

I agree re Pompey & Derby promotion , I'm also resigned to facing Barnsley in the play offs with you probably the favourites for the 3rd spot facing Lincoln or Oxford & i reckon you'll get the 3rd promotion spot .

Not sure what to expect v Vale on Wednesday , I hope there's a decent crowd with kids still off school & we have good recent record at home v them & Darren Moore but I've got us down to draw on Wednesday then an away win v Oxford on Saturday .

I am hoping that peterborough do slip up like we did when we won the pizza cup and drop into the playoffs, as being the pro league 1 bottlers we will fail yet again if we dont get the autos.

And that's the win we needed. Barring any points deductions that is safety all but confirmed now, with 3 games to go. Basically every result would have to go against us for us to be relegated.

What a turnaround this season has been on the pitch. On 24 November we were 24th, 10 points from safety (and effectively 12 points given the later points deduction) and now we're safe with 3 games to go. Selles has proved everyone wrong, and what a great bunch of players this team has been.

Hopefully makes the ownership/takeover situation easier, get that complete, keep most of this team together and will only need a few good additions to be pushing on for top 6 next season.

    Feels strange being so positive!!

This is what I said back in September last year....our form over the last 30 matches puts us in the playoff places.

With what our club has gone through...points deductions, ongoing transfer embargoes, ownership issues, late payment of wages, reduction of coaching staff, etc - this has been a remarkable season.

I also called Selles incompetent early in the season when it was clear his tactics weren't working, but he changed them, he adapted it and what a change it made. I've done full circle and he should be up for manager of the season.

Home to Vale with an unchanged team from Sunday which is a bit of a surprise as I thought Fergie would have freshened things up a bit with on paper Oxford away on Saturday looking far more trickier than what Vale should pose us & they've left out the classy looking Dipepa & Chislett who from an outsider looking in seem to be their best 2 players , probably Moore is setting them up for a 5-4-1 snatch & grab style win or draw.
