First I found so bumping this..

Bale's scored an injury time equaliser to help win the MLS Cup tonight. Another memorable moment in his career.

It was a perfectly chaotic game that had everything in it. That LA crowd was really great.

Gareth Bale finally gets the crown jewel in his career. Good for him.

It was a crazy game, just a pity LA won it.

I'm surprised how little interest there is in the UK now. 10 Years ago there seem quite a lot now it barely gets mentioned.

I watched bits and pieces of the second half and all extra time and it was one of the lowest quality games I've ever seen. Probably because it was a final and the pitch looked very dry. It was also a very stop start game. Bale was one of the heroes but the 2 keepers won the game for them. Great penalty saves but also if the first keeper hadn't made that tackle that seriously injured him it would've been what looked like an easy tap in. So which team played the better attacking football all year? Hope it was la cause they'd deserve it then

I'm shocked there's even coverage of it at all there!

Philadelphia had the most goals scored and least conceded in the season. They finished level on points. LA just had that little bit more fire (star) power (and played at home for the final) to get them over the line.

Yeah sky sports have live games and will show highlights, but I rarely ever hear anyone talk about it or mention it on forums etc....that wasn't the case a decade ago.
The quality is average, but the games are so open, makes it an interesting league.

Who played the better more attractive attacking football though. A negative counter attacking team can still score plenty. La looked a bit better on the ball and seemed to keep it on the ground more

Yeah, the chaos alone makes for some interesting moments, but honestly still a bit of a chore to watch religiously especially in the regular season. Playoffs are usually entertaining.

I don't get to watch a ton of LA games since they usually play late into the night (time zones, etc), but I think they have the better attacking talent between the two teams. Philadelphia is more known for having the best GK and CB's in the league. Was honestly surprised they were top goals scored when I double checked for that post. 2 of the 3 goals scored by Philly was by their CB, Elliott.

Good for him. Golden retirement; has finally accepted he's too old for UCL football. He will become fully Americanized for the next WC (ambassador and blah blah blah). His wife apparently never wanted to move to Arabia tbw.

It sounds like a sound and sensible decision from Messi - he was miserable at PSG and from what I've seen it really impacted his family life, being at Inter Miami sounds like a far more sensible decision for him and his family since money isn't really a problem for him :shrug

Kinda sad he's not staying in a top league but at least it's still a fully professional league unlike the Saudi one. And hopefully he'll follow the likes of zlatan and Henry in moving to the premier league on loan in the off season

Pretty much every Barca player who played with Messi and is on the verge or retirement being linked with Inter Miami (plus Sergio Ramos). Not sure how they'll be able to pay all of them when they only have 2 designated player spots after Messi, and they already have players taking those spots.

Anyway, Messi has landed in Miami today, looking forward to seeing players on $65,000 a year try and defend him .

In other news, for the first time, promotion/relegation will be in US sports as it looks like the USL will pass it. It's unlikely that the MLS will ever adopt it and join, but hopefully this helps the USL gain some prominence and be a competitive league to the MLS.
