If youve a good settled team and management in place i dont necessarily think you need a top budget in this league. We probably have one of the biggest but we have been a basket case on the footballing side of things for 2 seasons, wheras i cant see gateshead solihull or halifax being anywhere near us budget wise and they all out performed us comfortably
I have on good authority that we were going to be around £1.5m playing budget next season. With Ron's revealed non payment of Stewart LLP coming out of the woodwork, that will be reduced to £1.2m. Although that is seperate from the refurbishment budget for the Hall, if this takeover ever gets to completion obviously.
Hard to know with us. In terms of defensively. Stott and Golden are out of contract. Stott will be a massive miss. Not a chance we can afford to keep him. Golden my opinion has changed over the season. Not sure how much truth there was in him going to Oldham at the start of the season but he's had a poor year in comparison to last. Basically Been Jeff King 2.0. Constantly picking up bookings and giving away daft free kicks. I wouldn't be dissapointed if he left. As long as Millingtons here we'll always be able to defend our way to mid table at the least. Not pretty or entertaining to watch but it's been effective I guess Not hard to work out where our weak spot has been all year though. Goals. The entire strike force bar Oluwabori and Wright are out of contract and I'd happily drive all of them to any club that is stupid enough to take them. We have got to try and find better. I'd put ours up against any in the league as the worst attack this season. Players definitely under contract Johnson (best keeper in the league) can't do better Galvin. Competent left back. Senior. One of our top goalscorers says everything doesn't it? Solid centre half Cummings (club option) not seen a lot of him was doing alright till a season ending injury Wilson (club option) never went out on loan but didn't play for us either. If stott leaves possible more game time.. Thompson Sommers. Grown as the seasons gone on in midfield. Great find glad he's with us Jack Jenkins. Came in from Leeds half way through the season didn't play loads I expect his game time will be more next season. Hoti. Not had a great 2nd half of the year but if we play well he's generally behind it. Can't have helped that he dislocated his shoulder every time he played back end of the season. Surgery will hopefully clear that up in the summer Oluwabori. He frightens the life out of defenders. Always runs at people. Doesn't even know himself what hes going to do next and is very greedy. Overall I'm glad he will still be here.. Wright. Proved his fitness hopefully his injury problems are behind him now. Hopefully he can kick on next season. Chikukwa. Club option. A young player to try develop. Not sure if he will make the grade. But I haven't seen him play for us really so who knows Iwobi. Again another to try develop. He can't be any worse than the strikers we had this season surely.
He'll be along to defend the attack no doubt. He'd offer them all fresh 2 year contracts. Luckily I won't be able to see it.
The year we went up Solihull had one of the biggest budgets in the league, we missed out on one player to them as they offered him double the wages that we did and our budget will have been decent too. I think they reined it in a bit since but I’d expect it will still be a big one. It felt great beating them in the final too knowing how their budget dwarfed ours.

Just seen this from @tomhwilliams23 on Twitter, usually a pretty good source. Some huge changes set to be made to National League for 24/25 - 7 substitutes now allowed on the bench - Subs can be made during any stoppage (doesn’t appear to be a 3 stoppage rule) - Boxing Day and New Year Day fixture (v Same Club) now changed to Good Friday and Easter Monday
Sounds great, think he got the last one wrong though? I read it as you play a team on Boxing Day then the reverse of that fixture Good Friday, then a team on NYD and the reverse on Easter Monday
