Very much like last season for me. Most of us are just a run of 3/4 wins/losses from a decent or poor season. I still reckon the POs are Yorks to lose. FGR just look a bit soft to me. The rest of us currently in a PO position are in very mixed form and either usually don't score enough regularly or concede a load (Gateshead). The only thing that might make POs a bit interesting is if Barnet bottle things and drop into them. The psychological blow to their squad would be huge you'd imagine. I'm hoping Dale take part obviously but just can't see us going all the way. Our results just seem to be a coin toss at the moment.
Another year where fans from half of the teams in the top 7 moan about it whilst the Southend bottlejobs would just like to get in them for once.
Be very expensive to sack Maher and his vast back room staff after their big pay rise contract extensions. I reckon they’ll do well next season, didn’t get a proper stab at signings last preseason, their seems not real front runner if York join Barnet, anyone’s title next year and I can see a tinpotter winning it.
Imagine your gaffer coming out and saying in an interview the 'striker' he chose to play on Saturday is carrying a knock that causes him to struggle to strike the ball. It never fails to amaze me how unimportant he seems to think scoring goals is
He had a bit of a swipe at the home fans again. OK we do have some fickle fans , football can get emotional but he has to be more diplomatic if upset and give the interview to the assistant manager which they've done in the past.
Kev will be under more pressure next season, but he will be here, that's a definite. All the off the field distractions won't be there: Embargo, No full pre-season, playing catch up with the squad, both size wise and fitness wise. Instead it has already been stated by Tom Lawrence we want to do our transfer business as early as possible. Full pre season on time at the new training facility. First ten games will need to be positive for pressure not to increase
Think so, all but mathematically. I think Gateshead will lose their next two, then beat us on the final day, whatever our next two results are, which will be good enough for them.
Wow has there ever been a play offs consisting of such out of form teams? I just hope york push barnet all the way and take the psychological hit that coming up short brings
It's mad. No one seems to want it. I know we won today with Rochdale and Oldham but non of us have been In great form recently. I actually think we are there now. 4th or 7th who knows but it's such a poor play off lineup everyone has a chance
Next 3 games are critical to find some sort of shape and form. Its not necessarily about points now. Or even position given we are all shite at the minute. A good result from the last 3 for me will be to stay unbeaten, with at least 1 win in there, given its probably our hardest run of 3 games of the season, and our recent form. However can only see 1 point at best from york and fgr away. Can honestly see us finishing 7th
If anyone but York win the play offs, it's a travesty. What a pathetic season at this level, summed up most by my club.
Big win yesterday. We just needed something. A Left back scoring a diving Header in the 6 yard box pretty much shows we are lacking so much right now. But we managed to get over the line. We should be pretty much there now. 6 points clear with 3 left. I'd say we need a point. Whoever plays who from 4th to 7th in the quarters there would be no clear favourites. No real form from any of us. Avoiding York in a semi would be on everyone's wish lift. Forest Green away in a semi is definitely the easier route.. I don't see us winning the quarters though personally.
