Did anybody else watch the reveal stream just now? Not sure I like the look of the console, give me and all black version Sony!
Graphics are insane. My wife would kill me if I spent more than half a grand on a video game console nowadays.
The digital version looks nicer. Think they could have integrated the disc slot a bit better. Looks like a design afterthought. Still, looks nice enough.

It would be DOA if it was £800 starting price I think it'll be £449 for the digital version and £499 for the disk version, they could go for £399 for the digital version as the margins on digital games are higher, but £100 difference seems a bit agressive. They're both bulky tbf Though I'd rather that than have them as a jet engine machine like this last gen has been.
I suppose nothing that I've seen from the launch event that makes me want to switch over though personally it would take a lot too because of all the history I have on my Xbox account.
Not too sure, people are more than happy to pay that for phones every couple of years. People will just get them on finance.
Has any successful console been that price though? I remember things like the Atari Jaguar and Philips 3-DO being insanely high priced and fell on their arse as a result (in part).
The PS3 flopped hard out of the gates at $600 or whatever it was and Sony had to take huge loss on it after cutting the price by $100 in the first 6 months or something. Absolutely no chance the entry price point will be below the 500 mark.
I bought my PS4 when it was at £370. I don't think I would've bought it then if I wasn't pissed out of my head. I think it'll require the same method for this new one.
I think I'm probably going to pony up the money at launch considering it's backwards compatible with the ps4 and I skipped on the ps4 pro so will be nice to play some of the stuff coming out this year at max (Cyberpunk, TLOU2, Ghosts of Tsushima ect. ) providing it's sub £500, and there's a black version.
Yeah I'm hoping there's a black version. Not that I'm too fussy about aesthetics but would stick out like a sore thumb in my living room, and not in a good way. This is more to my liking without the spider crap on it.
Not sure for the previous iterations upon launch, but there are definitely themed/limited edition releases. Usually it's the controllers that come with a variety of colors.
