Just browsing through Grimsby Auditorium website to see if there’s anything good on and Milton Jones is on 26th September, I love him to bits he’s in my top 3 favourite comedians along with Peter Kay and Kevin Bridges, I’ve already seen Bridges twice but never the other two but by the end of the year I’ll have seen all three as I’ve got Peter Kay tickets already booked for Manchester in December too.
Milton Jones is on on my first night off of that shift so it’s fell just right and i’m absolutely buzzing right now.

I decided to go and see the Granddaughter while the wife was in work ,took baby and mother out for a drive. The baby is cross cutting her teeth and as my chin will testify she now has two teeth that have made themselves known to flesh  God love her ,as she's forever chewing her little hands and she's not sleeping ,so it's a rough old time for mother. I told her I will have the baby anytime when she's desperate for a touch of respite as I've got time on my hands 'well until the football season starts that is' ;) but nevertheless as soon as I leave the gym in the morning I'm looking for things to do.

Went to Llangollen today. Gorgeous scenery. Hadn't been for a very long time considering it is only 15 miles away.

Lots of them tiny giftshops and fancy tea rooms. Too posh for me eating sandwiches and drinking tea out of a China cup. Give me a chipbap and a bottle of pop.

Something soothing watching the water crashing over rocks and creating rapids for the rafts saw on the river.

One of my neighbours recently lost her husband and she was standing outside her house this morning just looking up and down like she was waiting for a parcel .I was just putting some rubbish in the blue recycling bin and noticed how distressed she looked so I asked her was she alright ,she told me she was waiting on her son to pull up the old carpet she had in the hall stairs and landing.

I know for a fact that her only son emigrated about 7 years ago to Australia ,so it was unlikely. I told her I'd take her carpet up for her if she wanted ,anyway to cut a long day short it was a b@stard to get up and thick as Hogs hair ,then I had to get the runners up and pricked myself more than is comfortable 'but not once did I allow Old Maisie to hear any expletives, but f*ck me I whispered a few .After the carpet was up and I'd snapped all the wooden runners I got rid of it all in the local skip in Huyton.

I drove back and she was standing outside waiting for me to return ,I asked her when her new carpet was arriving and she looked at me puzzled and said what new carpet ,so we sat down together and looked at carpets on my phone and eventually she picked one. I knew she wouldnt have a clue how to order one on line as she told me her last carpet was bought in 1977 and came from Bogans Carpets her and her husband had picked it together. Anyway I bought it with my card and she handed me £150 ,the carpet I just bought cost £380 online
    :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I didn't have the heart to tell her, so I just took the money she offered ,however just before I was leaving she said you support Liverpool don't you Tony ,I said yeah I do Maisie and she asked me to wait there and went upstairs ,she returned with a bulging leather backed scrap book ,this was Harry's she said and it's just gathering dust upstairs. Turns out old H had been following the reds even longer than me, this was going back before Shanks first took over. There were clippings from Liverpool Echo's from the 50's and old Liverpool programs ,stickers and old football cards from Gerry Byrne to Ian Rush ;) I told her I couldnt accept it ,but she said her husband would want it to go to a proper reds fan.

I just said thank you Maisie ,I will absolutely cherish it and let me know when I can come around and fit the carpet for you  I think these old pensioners are cleverer than we give them credit for

She's 83 and desperately lonely because her life partner just passed,so I doubt she would read anything into it other than me doing her a favour ? Other than that ,I doubt she has a carpet down there right now ,I imagine it will be more like grey velcro ,but I'll ask for you.

Yesterday was my last hospital appointment of any type for this year. Went to St Helens hospital on Monday for all my bloods then for the examination and results yesterday apart from being told I need to lose a bit of weight because they think I got some fat pressing against my liver everything else is good. Feels like a weight lifted and I can take a deep breath and relax now. Just need to dig the exercise bike out later and go to work could do with knocking my timeout wafers addiction on the head as well been known to have an entire pack in a day I love them that much .

Little lad is 8 today. Bowling later then off for a meal.

He was born with fluid in his lungs and was attached to a machine not long after with tubes down his nose helping him breath. Was a sight that was painful to see. Anyway he is in school at moment in a holiday club. Only he could be chuffed going to school when should be on hols, he said never been in school on birthday before bless him.

Teacher said they will get the 50 plus kids there to sing happy birthday to him. Lovely.

Mr Son nearly died at birth too, he was massively overdue so my Wife had to be induced but he got stuck and it was 2 days later my Wife finally managed to push him out with the help of forceps and this suction thing on his head but he’d pooed and swallowed some and he came out not breathing and had to be resuscitated, absolutely terrifying.
Now he’s 17 and getting picked up by his mate in a few hours to go to Fleetwood to watch Grimsby Town go and get beat.
Not sure where the times gone.

It was the missus who could have died, she lost that much blood during giving birth that she was whisked off straight away for a transfusion. I was literally left holding a baby minutes old on my own while everyone was racing around 100mph. Was allowed to stay overnight in a room and will admit was so scared with thoughts going through my head that I will be bringing up this little mite on my own and he won't have a mum. Frightened to death I was and not ashamed to say shed a tear through a scary night. Thankfully she pulled through as did the little lad. She never saw him for the first two days as she was out of it.

Anyway on a more cheery happy note.

Footy season is up and running. Be a few happy and a few pissed off by the end of the weekend. Love and hate football in equal measures.
