you forget weve had enough injuries already  Dawson Odubajo Bruce all to return, weve started well, and weve already played Man Utd Arsenal Liverpool Leicester (and chelsea next week) and we have 7 points, most i expected was 4, just hoping these heavy defeats dont drain the confidence before we get to more winnable games. If we can keep everyone fit we have the quality to stay up, whether we do or not? Guess we will have to strap ourselves in for the ride to find out

Saw him in the play-offs and he looked excellent, Bruce on the other hand is a sub at best for this level.

If Sunderland weren't already ****ed they are now.

2-0 up against us with 60 mins gone, lose 2-3. Their confidence must be utterly destroyed.

    It's a bizarre start.

We've been horrendously bad (WBA, Spurs, first half against Bournemouth, most of today) yet absolutely brilliant elsewhere. There's just no consistency.

The main difference to last season is our goal haul. Since Benteke came in and Townsend got a run in the side we've been banging them in left, right and centre. We were shite today but still smashed in three.

As it stands we're somehow above Chelsea. Ridiculous

Interesting that Moyes highlighted his players need to stop looking at him and his staff for help when they need to take responsibility.
    He is spot on.
Players are pampered to a point of stupidity when the manager takes all the flak.
I like David Moyes and he is absolutely right.

It's Pardew for you, a very wacky manager to say the least but overall does quite well. Madness that the Palace game is on 5th tonight on MOTD, what a farce. I was annoyed that the Bournemouth game was on before us but then I saw that

Sunderland haven't won a game in August or September for 5/6 years!

    No wonder they always struggle.

Just our luck that we come from two down to win 2-3 on the same day as Man United 4-1 Leics, Swansea 1-3 City, Arsenal 3-0 Chelsea and Liverpool 5-1 Hull.

I'm not surpised in the slightest. If we're lucky we'll get 90 seconds' analysis and it'll be along the lines of this:

"Sunderland were unhappy with the free-kick that led to the third goal. Ruud, what was your view?"

"Ummm I thought QPR got lucky there, yes."

    "What about Benteke?"

    "That's what £32m gets you - goals."

"Thanks Ruud. Everton travelled to Bournemouth..."

The way this season is going, i wouldn't bother watching the second half either

Need some quality in January, but it might be too late by then. And he's not going to get the sack no matter how low in the league we are after Ellis heaped all that praise on him and talking about how long he'd wanted Moyes as manager. Not looking good which ever way you look at it

That foul that led to Palaces third goal, what a absolute idiot of a decision to foul him where he was. If I remember rightly, he had his back to there box and goal, wasn't going anywhere and never posed a threat, don't know why that Sunderland player decided to foul him.

I think Sunderland are screwed this season, luck has ran out. There is no quality in the team barring a select few players, there is no creativity, seems like they don't have any leaders on the pitch, it's just total shambles. I don't see any outs for them unless they buy a few quality players in January, but they could very well be out of it by then, and not to mention, players might not actually want to come to a club that they know are looking strong favourites for the drop.

Stoke and West Ham are in the bottom 3, not a bad prediction for someone that knows little about football is it?

The thing with relegation is January always gives you a chance of survival unless you have a first half of the season like Villa last year and are miles adrift.

Sunderland have been bottom at Christmas a couple of times now and stayed up. Last season they were terrible until they got a few players in in January and even then they only stayed up because of Defoe scoring loads or they'd have been dead and buried when Villa were. Eventually their luck will run out. They only managed to get 17th last year because Newcastle took too long to sack McClaren.
