I'm guessing that we will go with exactly the same team and formation again as per last 16

    Pickford
    Walker stones guehi trippier
    Mainoo rice
    Saka bellingham foden
    Kane

Full backs won't cross half way and we will register a record number of passes towards our own goal.

I'd expect shaw on 85mins, maybe we might see Palmer but I expect to see Southgate holding subs for pens in reserve.

On the dutch side I have not been impressed by much I've seen. A lot of average enough players and a lot of defensive issues we won't test until behind in the game.

I reckon this is the end of the road for us.
Can't keep performing how we have been and getting away with it.

Unfortunately I live in the Netherlands, so I am not looking forward to all the gloating.

The stuff of dreams, along with playing Foden or Bellingham and telling Kane to stop dropping deep and play off the shoulders of their cbs where he gives them something to worry about.
I’m going to have to stop reading this thread because I keep getting suckered into being hopeful. Following England is the equivalent of getting excited because you think you’re going to get laid and you end up rolling on the floor in agony because what you actually get is a knee in the nuts.

Steady on. That would require making 2 whole changes to the starting line up. That's not the Southgate way

Which would be stupid because Konsa had a better game than Walker has had all tournament against Switzerland.

I wonder will he throw caution to the wind in the 3rd/4th place play off or still try for pens?

    Pickford---Ramsdale

    Walker---Konsa---Stones---Guehi---Shaw---Trippier

    Bellingham---Rice

    Kane

We're nailed on winners here. Come on Gareth's Army!!

Apparently I'm too miserable and have to say that or I'm not allowed to post in the thread.

I've got a feeling England will win this ,obviously nothing I've seen thus far has backed that prediction ,but it's just a gut feeling that England may turn on the burners later. I mean let face it ,if any of us were in the players shoes you would surely pop a gonad to ensure you made it to the final.

Like I say ,against my better judgement I think this is going to be a cracker.

I get what you're saying but Trippier hasn't been bad, and I would rather get to 60 minutes and bring Shaw on for half an hour plus extra time than get to 60 minutes and take him off nullifying our threat down the left hand side for that time.

    We have a good chance.

Be it a set piece or a break away or just pens.

Nether team could claim to be like Spain

    100% we have a shot

The annoying thing is Netherlands really isn’t all that so I can’t really say this would be end for us.

For example if we play Spain and get knocked out then at least I can hold my hand up and say we were beaten comfortably by a quality team.

I’m saying I’m not going to be completely satisfied wether we lose or win. We win, it’ll be a scrappy goal or set piece goal and hold out for rest of game. *sigh*
